Comments:
The car has a strong body that provides passengers with good comprehensive protection. Protection during the side blow was impressive, earned a high rating. Although the door opened in this test, this is most likely not to happen in a real collision, since the obstacle used in the test pressed on the door handle. The rear seat belts can be used to ensure better fixation of children's seats, but there were no instructions for their use, so they did not participate in the test. Finally, the protection of the legs of pedestrians was very bad.Frontal blow:
The test instance was equipped with double farting airbags, as well as pretensors and restraints of the load load. However, even this set did not protect the chest cells of the riders from the effects of high load. The manufacturer made a lot of effort to protect the knees and legs of the front passengers. Under the steering column was a plate of multilayer steel with a filler, covering some very dangerous elements, and the steel beam covers the rest of the areas. However, this zone remained quite dangerous, for which several points were removed.Safety of passenger children:
There were no clear warnings in the car’s salon about the possibility of causing damage to the child’s life -threatening when installing the children's chair “against the direction of movement” in the front seat. The manufacturer should have been more serious about this danger and place constant warnings in the salon. Two different types of children's seats were used in the test, both were recommended by VW. The chair for the 18-month-old was “against the direction of movement”, and the chair for the 3-year-old was fixed in the locks of ISOFIX. The chairs did not fully fulfill their functions.Side blow:
The side pillow of safety showed a good result by protecting the driver's chest. The door was located in the doors from the foam, transmitting the impulse from the blow to the pelvic area. However, in a collision, they did not collapse.Pedestrian safety:
The mitigation of the pedestrian’s head against the surface of the hood was acceptable, but the assessment for protection of the legs was lower.General information about the car
