Comments:

Experts allowed to conduct a repeated test of this car after the manufacturer made changes to its design. When hitting the side, the car showed itself well due to a highly located cab. The frontal blow was also postponed well, although the load on the driver's chest was quite high. The driver and, to a lesser extent, the passenger risked getting knee injuries due to a blow to hard elements under the surface of the front panel. The children's chairs recommended by the manufacturer provided incomplete protection. Finally, the front of the car was very strict and traumatic in relation to pedestrians.

Frontal blow:

The driver’s passive safety system included a single -stage airbag and a pretext with a belt load limiter. Unfortunately, this arsenal could not completely protect the chest. The driver and, to a lesser extent, the passenger risked getting knee injuries due to a blow to hard elements under the surface of the front panel. All seat belts were three -pointing, which increases protection.

Safety of passenger children:

For a 3-year-old passenger, the Toyota Britax Romer Duo chair, installed "in the direction of movement", fixed using ISOFIX and safety straps, was used. For the younger, the Toyota Britax Romer Baby Safe chair was used, fixed “against the direction of movement” using a seat belt. In the frontal blow, the head of the elder was at risk of injury on the elements of the cabin, and the load on their chest cells went beyond the safe level. There were no problems with a lateral strike. The inadmissibility of the installation of the children's chair “Against the direction of movement” opposite the front pillow of the passenger reported the durable icon on the edge of the front panel and a text warning on both sides of the sunglass visor of the passenger.

Side blow:

With a lateral blow, Previa proved itself well, as expected. However, the punishment followed the distribution of the load between the mannequin and the chair, which underestimated the readings of the sensors in the chest. There will be no such dispersion of the load with the body of a person in real conditions.

Pedestrian safety:

Only a few points on the surface of the hood, where the head of the adult will fall, ensured the mitigation of the blow. The bumper and the front edge of the hood were traumatic.
