Comments:

For this test, a car was chosen with the body of a wagon, since they constitute most of the selling outback. All-wheel drive vehicle showed a good result. After the frontal blow, the salon was almost not deformed, the driver's door opened without effort (which is very good), and the foot niche has kept the form. The load on the breast of the driver was relatively high, but the protection of children was especially good. Information on the safety of passenger children on signs in the car's cabin and in children's chairs was understandable and complete. For the older child, an armchair enshrined in ISOFIX locks was used and with the help of safety straps that increases the reliability of fixation. The results of the side impact were also very good, but pedestrian protection was recognized as weak.

Front punch:

The car body was very strong, the front rack was deformed slightly. Niche for the legs remained almost untouched, but some elements under the surface of the front panel can injure the legs of the front sediments. The central seat of the seats is equipped with a three-point seat belt, providing better protection compared to the waist.

Security of passenger children:

For a 3-year-old child, a SUBARU RÖMER DUO chair was used, fixed "in the direction of movement" using ISOFIX fasteners and safety straps. For the younger, they took the chair Subaru Römer Baby-Safe and installed "against the direction of movement." Both seats well fulfilled their functions. The quality of informational messages inside the cabin and on the chairs was high, and experts praised the manufacturer for the efforts attached in this direction. The front airbag enters the basic configuration of Subaru Legacy Outback and the manufacturer during the test led negotiations with dealers in Europe about the possibility to organize its shutdown by their forces.

Side strike:

The combination of side airbags and durable body well saved the driver's head when hit by side. Surprisingly, the security curtain is not included in the basic configuration, so the assessment is not maximum.

Pedestrian safety:

The hood zones where the head of the child and, adult fall, softened the blow, but the bumper and the front edge of the hood turned out to be traumatic.
