Comments:

OCTAVIA body was very strong and provided good protection to his passengers. Passive security systems included single-stage front driver and passenger airbags, side airbags and pretensioners with front belt load limiters. OCTAVIA has a fifth generation with Volkswagen Golf with Volkswagen Golf, however, unlike the "German", Czech has no security curtain in the basic configuration. However, they are available at an additional cost. The protection of children was good, and the estimate for the protection of pedestrians only almost reached up to three stars.

Front punch:

Body car has undergone minimal deformation. Single-step front airbags and pretensioners with seat belt load limiters kept load on the driver's chest at a relatively low level, but it risked to get damage to the knees due to contact with rigid elements of the front panel. The niche for the legs was deformed weakly, and the shift of the pedals was permissible.

Security of passenger children:

The front airbag of the passenger can be turned off manually, and for a long period, it is possible to disconnect the pillow at the dealer. Status is displayed on the instrument panel and the front console. On the danger of the installation of a children's chair, "against the direction of movement", in front of the active pillow, only the pictogram is informing, which is on the edge of the front panel and can easily break away. In the test, the Fair Bimbo Fix chairs were used ("in the direction of movement" for the older, and "against the direction of movement" - for the younger) installed in the ISOFIX fasteners. Both children were well protected, although during the frontal impact of the load on the chest cells were slightly higher than the norm.

Side strike:

The protection system when hitting the side of the side airbags and scored the maximum number of points.

Pedestrian safety:

The bumper and the front edge of the hood ensured the mitigation of the strike, as well as the surface of the hood, especially in places where the child's head falls.
