Comments:

Model 9-3 showed the result better than its predecessor - Saab 900, - which also passed EURO NCAP testing. However, the results of the frontal blow were disappointed: heavy loads were influenced on the pectoral cells, and the passenger interior was damaged to the roof and the upper part of the doors, along the trajectory of the impact pulse. The zone near the knees turned out to be attendant, since the built-in timber is designed to protect the unusted passengers. Despite this, children's chairs were one of the best, tested Euro NCAP until 2000. They scored the maximum number of points. Also, the highest assessment is also set for protection when hit by side.

Front punch:

Passive safety systems have been too heavy loads on breasts, creating a risk of serious injury. The driver's position also worsened a steering wheel offset. In the front panel there is a two-piece transverse bar, one section of which is intended to protect the fastened passengers, and the other - unaccounted, in accordance with the requirements of the US market. This beam did not improve this, and it might have worsened the results of the frontal impact.

Security of passenger children:

Children's armchairs were under the Saab brand and installed "against the direction of movement". For fastening used seat belts and fastening to the front armchairs salads. The defense turned out to be excellent, and the head of young passengers - in complete safety. The only reason for criticism was the warning about the danger of installing the chair "against the direction of movement" opposite the front airbag of the front passenger. This warning MZHET is easy to tear off and get lost.

Side strike:

Side pillows and security curtains worked well, not allowing the experts to remove at least one point. A blow to the pillar demonstrated that the curtain creates a layer between the head of the saddle and the pillar itself, leaving this way a good chance of survival with a serious collision.
