Comments:

The new generation Vectra has a strong body and protects its passengers. The car suffered well a frontal blow, after it all the doors opened normally. However, the load on the driver's chest was relatively high. Both children's chairs used ISOFIX mounts, and the “younger” mannequin was well protected. Like most, simultaneously with Vectra tested cars, the car did not protect pedestrians well.

Frontal blow:

The car withstood the frontal blow well, the recess for the legs and the doorway was not deformed much, and the accelerator pedals and the brakes only shifted back and down. The design of the pedals implies their disconnection in the collision, which increases the safety of the driver’s legs, however, with a test strike, the footing for the legs was not damaged quite much to work these mechanisms. The knees of both with a rider were threatened by a collision of solid elements of the front panel. The central place of the back row of seats is equipped with a three -point seat belt that provides better protection compared to waist.

Safety of passenger children:

The icon with a warning about the presence of the front pillow of the passenger was placed on the right side of the front panel, but it did not warn about the danger associated with the installation of the children's chair “against the direction of movement” in its place. Children's seats were installed in ISOFIX castles, these were the Kiddy chairs recommended by the manufacturer for children of both age groups. A chair for the younger one showed a good result in the frontal and lateral strikes, but the chair for the older child could not protect it in any test.

Side blow:

For the protection of passengers with a side strike, the car earned the maximum number of points. Safety curtains protect the heads of the riders of both rows of seats. In the test, they proved their effectiveness.

Pedestrian safety:

Only four control points out of 18 provided protection. This is a bad result for a new design car, and experts recommended that the manufacturer pay more attention to the safety of such a group of road users as pedestrians.
