Comments:

The new A-Class has established itself well on crash tests, deserved five stars for protecting adult passengers and a driver. The security frame of the passenger salon protected the riders, only about one point was lost with the frontal and lateral strikes. Passive safety systems included two -level airbags, front belts with pretense and adaptive load limiters, side pillows in the backs of the seats. The alarm on the non -set seat belts is set to all places. The protection of children was good, pedestrians - also quite good - 17 points out of possible 36.

Frontal blow:

The body was subjected to minimal deformation, and the driver's door was able to open almost without effort. The compression of the leg niche was also minimal, and the displacement of the pedal node was well controlled. Two -level airbags, pretensors and strap load limiters limited the free movement of passenger bodies. The designers have a lot of efforts to ensure the safety of the knees and hips of the front riders. As a result - the readings of the sensors talking about the loads were low.

Safety of passenger children:

The inscriptions in two languages \u200b\u200bwarned about the inadmissibility of the installation of the children's chair “Against the direction of movement” opposite the active airbag. They were placed on both sides of the passenger sunscreen, but they could easily come off. The 3-year-old mannequin was located in the Britax Romer Duo Plus chair recommended by the manufacturer, fixed by the “face forward” using ISOFIX locks and upper mounts. The youngest was put in Britax Romer Babysafe Plus, installed “against the direction of movement” using seat belts. The protection of both was at a high level.

Side blow:

The protection system included side airbags for the chest and head, which, coupled with a strong body, kept the readings at a low level. The highest points were awarded for lateral blows to overlap and pole.

Pedestrian safety:

The general defense was quite normal. The bumper satisfied the requirements of Euro NCAP, although the surface of the hood provided only a slight softening of the blow in the areas where the head of the pedestrian (adult or child) would fall. The front edge of the hood also provided some protection.
