Comments:

KIA minivan showed bad results of crash tests. The driver risked getting a head, chest and legs, the front passenger - chest injury. The Carnival body was badly damaged by the frontal impact and was very deformed. The results of the frontal blow were worse than the rest due to the fact that the head and chest of the driver hit the steering wheel, the niche for the legs collapsed, and the pedals shifted back. Children's seats showed a good result, satisfying the requirements of Euro NCAP, but pedestrians are poorly protected.

Frontal blow:

The security frame of the passenger salon was very deformed when hit. The deformations of the front panel and the lower part of the body were so large that if the driver, if the protection was provided, was only the most minimal to the chest and feet of the driver. The distance to which the steering wheel shifted back suggests that the airbag would not be able to perform its functions at the proper level. Tough elements of the torpedo have become another threat of the front riders. The central place of the rear seat is equipped with only a waist seat belt, which provides much worst protection than a three -point one.

Safety of passenger children:

Children's chairs (face forward ”for the elder and back forward for the youngest) showed a good result, satisfying all the requirements of Euro NCAP. A warning about the inadmissibility of the installation of the chair “against the direction of movement” at the site of the front passenger is located in the sun visor. However, the inscription was made only in English, which did not quite correspond to the tested car for the Holland market.

Side blow:

For a car without lateral airbags, Kia showed himself well, although the driver’s head hit the central rack, and his hand on glass, although it did not break it. There was a blow to the body, impressed by a blow.

Pedestrian safety:

The dots where the child’s head will fall during the arrival, they ensured some softening of the blow, although all other places were very tough. EURO NCAP experts believe that pedestrians should be taken more seriously to ensure the real protection of this vulnerable group of road users.
