Comments:

Accent earned two stars, but the latter was removed for an unacceptably high risk of chest damage during a lateral blow. Therefore, the car did not meet the safety requirements for lateral strikes introduced in Europe in October 1998. The bumper showed himself well when hitting a pedestrian - all three test points comply with safety requirements.

Frontal blow:

The passenger salon was significantly deformed. The lower loop of the driver's door broke, although the upper one was preserved. The door itself poorly suffered a blow - the front stand was pressed inside. The niche for the legs was practically torn in half. The contact of the driver’s head and airbag was stable, but the pillow hit the chest. The general protection of the lower extremities is estimated as bad.

Safety of passenger children:

The manufacturer does not give recommendations on the children's seats, so for the test, the holding seats were randomly selected, and it turned out that they were not compatible with the rear belts of the car. With a frontal blow, the head of a 3-year-old passenger leaned forward too far, although there were no such problems with 18 months. With a lateral blow, the chair was deformed and the child’s head could not resist it.

Side blow:

The driver’s head hit the top mount of the seat belt on the central rack. All areas of the costal department experienced a very high load, since they were hit by the middle rack and the edges of the door. The same elements injured the abdominal department, while reducing the assessment for its protection. However, the protection of the pelvic region turned out to be good.

Pedestrian safety:

The bumper proved himself extremely well, comply with all safety requirements. However, all the control points on the front edge of the hood provided poor protection, as well as the place where the head of an adult will fall when hitting. Four of the six places of a possible hit of the head of children-pedestrians met safety requirements.
