Comments:

The S2000 model was commercially available in 1999, and it did not have time to apply later Honda achievements in ensuring pedestrian security. However, this is a durable car that has been subjected to only not a great deformation of the passenger compartment. The doors were practically not damaged. The frontal and side blows were carried out with a raised top to measure the load level of the driver's head. Protection of pedestrians was very weak.

Front punch:

The body design has moved well. Door opening and some body elements have received minimal damage, and the door itself opened and closed normally. The airbag provided the driver's head good protection. The knees can be injured by such elements as: fastening the coat of the steering column, the bracket of the column itself and its castle. The driver's foot niche is also dangerous because welded seams diverged and strongly deformed.

Security of passenger children:

There is no reminder of the inadmissibility of the installation of a children's chair "against the direction of movement" to the place of the front passenger. Since there were two adult dummy in the cabin, there were no places for children's chairs.

Side strike:

The driver's head for the tangent hit the frame of the folding top, which can cause damage to high drivers. There was no side airbag, but the driver was well protected. On the S2000 doors there is a protective pad that protects with lateral blows. Car thresholds are very strong and prevent the body curvature towards passengers.

Pedestrian safety:

The car has demonstrated very bad results in this test, especially compared to newer models. For example, CR-V scored three stars.
