Comments:
When the family class cars were tested for the first time in Euro NCAP in 1997, ACCORD was not included in that group. This test was sponsored by the manufacturer himself, in order to compare a car with competitors. With the frontal blow, the body was deformed slightly, but the unusual curvature of the bottom behind caused concern. The central seat of the seat is equipped with a three-point seat belt. The results of the side strike were higher than the average in the group under consideration.Front punch:
The heads and neck of the front sediments turned out to be well protected by airbags. The pressure of chest belts was insufficient for causing serious damage at such a blow. The risk of injury arose for the legs and knees due to the rigid elements below the surface of the torpedo, however, the risk was small for the bottom of the legs.Security of passenger children:
The airbag for the front passenger is included in the basic configuration, so for a child placed in this place in a children's chair, located "against the direction of movement", there is a real danger to get fatal injury. Warnings inside the car were insufficient. One of them was fixed on the windshield and it was easy to remove or lose when the glass is replaced. The good news was that each seat belt rear seat is equipped with limiters, allowing more reliably to fix the children's chair. However, the recommended chairs themselves were not very good.Side strike:
With lateral impact, the door remained closed, although the rear door knob was jammed in the open position. The head of the mannequin hit the side rack and the door, although the strength of this blow was recognized not dangerous. With such a collision, the risk of getting serious injury is minimal.Pedestrian safety:
It seems that Accord does not care at all about pedestrians: all tests for the feet are failed. The best protection was provided by some hoods, where the head of the child's shot down - four of the six seats were normal. The overall ranking of two stars is higher than an average of the family class.General information about the car
