Frontal blow:

Ranger did not score in this category enough points for three stars, although the total number of points was large. As a result of the blow, the passenger salon was significantly deformed. For this, penalties were accrued, as well as for deformation of the front racks and excessive shift back of the steering wheel. There is a danger to the driver’s legs due to the shift of the brake pedal, the bursting niche for the legs and the shift back of the entire pedal node, which exceeded 400 mm. In airbags, the pressure was insufficient to prevent contact of the driver’s head with the steering wheel. Protection of the driver's chest was recognized as weak, mainly due to the scale of deformations. The sensor in the left knee of the driver registered a high probability of injury, so protecting this zone is recognized as weak. Deformation of the niche for the legs and the displacement of the pedal node led to poor protection of the feet and ankles of the driver. Ford did not test the left -handed version at a speed of 64 km/h, so Euro NCAP could not confirm that the level of protection of both versions was the same.

Safety of passenger children:

Although the head of a 3-year-old passenger was not subjected to an excessive jerk forward with a frontal impact, she nevertheless hit the back of the driver's seat. This was mainly due to the shift of the driver's seat back due to the destruction of its foundation. Ranger was not equipped with ISOFIX mounts. A reminder of the inadmissibility of installation in place of the front passenger of the children's chair “Against the direction of movement” with an active pillow of safety was incomprehensible and short -lived.

Side blow:

Ranger has earned the maximum number of points for the side blow. The car was not equipped with side airbags, so Imitation of the impact of the pillar was not carried out

Pedestrian safety:

The front edge of the hood scored 0 points for protecting the legs of pedestrians. The surface of the hood is recognized as unsafe for pedestrians.
