Comments:

The practical car tested in 2000 did not differ from the 1996 sample or on equipment or security systems. The results also turned out to be similar: badly with a frontal impact, better with lateral. Children's seat for a 1.5-year-old passenger worked well, however for a 3-year-old with some comments. Pedestrian protection is terrible. The overall rating is just three stars.

Front punch:

When you hit the steering wheel overly moved back, and the driver's head was not kept on the security pillow. The front seat belts are equipped with pretensioners and locks that limit the movement in the collision. Footprints of the chest about the steering wheel is not detected. The space of the cabin near the driver turned out to be threatened due to the burst welds of the front rack and the supporting elements of the dashboard. The brake pedal shifted back, threatening the feet and legs. The central seat of the back row of seats is equipped only with a two-point strap, which can cause severe back injury or abdominal cavity.

Security of passenger children:

Although the test sample was not equipped with a front passenger safety pillow, the manufacturer assures that on models where it (airbag) installed information plates with warnings regarding the inadmissibility of the use of the children's chair "against the direction of movement" with an active pillow. The chair of the 1.5-year passenger was located "against the direction of movement" and was attached using seat belts. This contributed to the control of the position of the head, but caused the risk of injury to the neck. The 3-year armchair could not hold his head with a frontal, nor with lateral blows. The color designation of the fastening points belts is made in the form of color dots that are easily erased, thereby increasing the risk of incorrect chairs.

Side strike:

The main blow fell on the chest, which could lead to severe injury. The abdominal department and the head turned out well protected, but the load was trying on the pelvis.

Pedestrian safety:

One star is a sad result, but after tests the manufacturer stated that measures will be taken to increase pedestrian protection. In particular, the hood will be replaced by more flexible and "friendly" towards the heads of shot down pedestrians.
