Comments:

The last generation of Stilo after repeated frontal and lateral strikes received four stars for protecting adult passengers. This was facilitated by improvements in the construction of the body, pedal node, a beam passing through a dashboard, a shock -absorbing element behind a torpedo and rear doors. Protection of children is also on top, however, the protection of pedestrians, for a 1.6-liter tested version, turned out to be bad-only one star.

Frontal blow:

Two -level airbags, pretensors and strap load limiters in combination with a strong body showed a good result. However, the sensors in the driver's body recorded a high load on the chest. Tough structural elements behind the steering column and torpedo increased the risk of damage to the knees of the front riders. The legs for the legs were not deformed much, and the pedals shifted only a little, although the brake pedal jammed.

Safety of passenger children:

For both mannequins, Britax Romer Duo Plus seats, fixed by “face forward” using ISOFIX and ceiling safety straps, were used. The durable icon and the inscription in the seven languages \u200b\u200blocated on both sides of the passenger sun visor warn of the inadmissibility of the location of the children's chair at the site of the front passenger with an active pillow of safety. The protection of an 18-month-old child was at a height with both blows, and a 3-year-old-with a lateral one. However, the load on his chest during the frontal blow was high.

Side blow:

The protection is impressive, including side airbags in the backs of armchairs and curtains for the heads of the riders of both rows. However, the upper part of the side pillow during the test stuck in the back of the chair. The load on the driver’s chest was high, and the forces were distributed uncharacterly for real conditions, slightly reducing the readings of the devices.

Pedestrian safety:

Stilo with a 1.6 liter engine took part in the tests. The test of the 1.4-liter version was assumed later. The place of the probable blow of the child’s head and, to some extent, the front edge of the hood, provided some softening of the blow. However, the bumper turned out to be traumatic.
