There was absolutely acquainted with the owner of a small tuning studio - an experienced master with professional engineering education. Just at that time, the specialist was tired of doing everything that was said in the insertion to the material: to bring domestic cars and used foreign cars by the least resistance method, replacing air filters and gears in gearboxes. The proposal to remember about the years carried out in the walls of the technical university, was the ability to install on the MR2 motor of the mechanical supercharger. Pretty rare today in Russia a way to increase power. The advantage of this device before the ordinary turbine is that it is devoid of turbo-pit effect, when when the engine is promoting up to 2000-3000 rpm, a noticeable lack of torque is felt, and then the car suddenly fits forward. Not the most convenient algorithm for control, I must say. The supercharged adds power from the lowest range of revolutions. This means a serious increase in torque - an important indicator during acceleration. In general, the owner of Toyota did not think for a long time and gave the scorch of the tuning process that pulled almost a year.
 
Pluses of mechanics
 
The engine of the mechanical supercharger engine of the eminent American manufacturer Roots demanded the removal of the top cover of the engine compartment. The yield was found quite original, but at the same time, and very difficult from a technical point of view - it was decided to modify the right rear side member, while retaining its rigidity and reliability.
 
The injection system remained standard - the appropriate fuel mixture was selected with more productive nozzles and pressure adjustment. As a result of all alterations, the engine began to develop 280 hp Instead of standard 156, and the maximum torque increased by 60%. Naturally, the merit belongs not only to the supercharger, but lightweight flywheel, reinforced connecting rod liners, forged pistons and rods, which were also installed on the engine as, for example, a standard addition, without which no Western atelier do. Just in case, the block of the block was reinforced with special bolts, and the motor was strengthened from the bottom: God forbid to crash when accepted, - the owner jokes.
 
After the final assembly, the engine was run in a special bench, which allowed to eliminate small errors in the electron brain settings and the composition of the mixture.
 
The next stage is the refinement of the suspension. It appeared more rigid and wear-resistant polyurethane silent blocks, German Bilstein shock absorbers, workers in a pair with eibaxh springs. Finally, brought the brake system. Enlarged disks and new calipers became the necessary cold shower of the car's heat.
 
Such is the history of this Toyota MR2. How about practice? - you ask. Oh, with her, too, everything is in order! In the sense that it is no less interesting. In general, the average car car has a very original character. In any turn, it requires extremely cautious handling of the wheel and the accelerator, otherwise it is completely easy to slide. And in such a way that striving to rotate around the center of gravity, which is located in the middle of the base of the car. Something it resembles ordinary cards, only the consequences of errors can be much more deployed and burdensome. The new MR2 suspension made a model even more acute from the point of view of the driver's sensations. Yes, shakes, yes, quite strong, but in this, at least there is a guarantee that the driver feels the coupe every part of his body and can say for sure that at the moment it happens with wheels, motor, transmission. And what about turns, then the case of practitioners and habits to manage this particular Toyota.
 
However, no one promised that I would be easy. After all, this is a real sports car, which after tuning found the chassis supercar. These include a pretty tight clutch pedal, and ceramic discs of this part inside the enhanced basket, and the steering wheel, which is simply impossible to keep one hand, only two.
 
I forgot to say that the interval was alterated. Now he will be covered with raspberry leather, part of the panels are painted in the body color, comfortable racing buckets, steering wheel, pads on pedals and lever gearbox MOMO appeared. This is from things useful and really functional. Plus, the owner of the MR2 could not deny himself the pleasure of placing several additional analog appliances on the front panel. Some of them were even installed on the front rack. For me, for me for the sake of Paphos and charming adorable passengers, but the driver Toyota claims that they actually use them. True, it is incomprehensible - when, because the temperament of the car has become extremely enviable. Acceleration up to 100 km / h occupies only 5.5 s, that is, there is less than 550 m at such times. When at such moments, take readings from the dials, and it remains a mystery to me.

Do you know who sometimes remind me of tuning lovers? Maniacs, honestly. But not to offend, let's call them just obsessed people. As you know, the limits of perfection does not happen. More precisely, in the modern world they lies exclusively in financial capabilities. In general, it turned out that the current version of Toyota MR2 is still far from final.
