Skoda Yeti test drive since 2009 -

Skoda Yeti 2.0 TDI 4x4 from 1,119,000 rubles.

The Czech gasoline bridgehead kept much longer than the German. Weapons in arms from Volkswagen Group VW, Audi and even Porsche have long brought to the Russian market diesel versions of their cars, while the Czechs stood to the last, as if waiting for the birth of the second decade

This, however, was concerned only to Russia. In Europe, diesel Skoda, of course, is not as common as a VW with a similar 2-liter engine, but there was still there was still an ammunition of the Czech diesel engines. True, unlike the same VW, Czechs were available only with a manual gearbox. But diesel conservatism could not continue forever. By the first year of the new decade, Skoda finally complemented the mosaic of her model range with a car, the image of which had long been on the surface. Skoda Yeti with a 2-liter diesel engine was the first car that went off the slipways of Skoda factories, in which the Czechs finally decided to combine the perfectly proven in the German folk brand, a 140-horsepower VW diesel engine with all-wheel drive and an automated pre-sector transmission DSG. Only, unlike low -omorant gasoline engines, a powerful diesel is aggregated not from seven, but with six-speed Tiptronic.

Fresh blood will certainly benefit Yeti: the new old Volkvagen diesel with one of the most optimal ratio of performance indicators and torque opens a new branch in the Czech crossover family. The vibrations are minimal, but the regiment of the maximum moment is many times wider than that of gasoline counterparts. And a hoarse roar only adds to the image of Yeti brutal thoroughness. However, not to him alone. Simultaneously with the diesel Yeti, the Skoda Octavia Combi (from 969,000 rubles) and Superb (from 1,124,000 rubles) will also enter the Russian market. Unlike Europe, in Russia, all three models will be available exclusively with DSG and only in the top trim levels from here and such a solid initial price. The manual transmission in Russia will remain the prerogative of cheaper gasoline versions of Skoda.
