The 86-horsepower engine, clear, gives a noticeably worst acceleration dynamics, but an interesting thing is clear here: since the modification is easier than the rest and has reduced brake mechanisms (the moment of inertia of small brake discs and the unsprown masses are less), it is controlled by more powerful and heavy brothers ! He soars directly, and does not go, the steering wheel is more informative, and the reactions to the turn is more acute. True, brakes with modest discs can be easily overheat, and this is critical on looping mountain serpentines. The average fuel consumption in 86-horsepower 1.2 TSI, like a kitten about 6 liters per hundred, but appetite is much more dynamic 105-horsepower diesel, and more modestly about 5.5 liters (according to the passport 4.4).

And what about comfort? Harsh, but not critical. And it is clear why the accuracy of management is priority, but the rolls could be less. In prohibitive modes, the Rapid is neutral, in a steep turn, the demolition is smoothly replaced by gliding both axles, and this is well safer. To disrupt Rapid in a skid, it must be openly provoked, swaying thoroughly. Isn't that why ESP is unobtrusive? It comes into effect very late, for the driver and experienced Europeans, every minutely laying turns on alpine serpentines, what is needed. But for inexperienced drivers, such a system of dynamic stabilization is not the best solution. It would be necessary to build.

The world premiere of Skoda Rapid will take place in Paris in September, after which the car will begin to be sold in Europe.
