The first Skoda Octavia cars of the Kaluga assembly appeared on sale by dealers a few months ago. Until the body types, we are not offered to choose only hatchbacks now. But there is a choice of engines. For example, OSTAVIA is equipped with 1.6 FSI or 2.0 FSI gasoline engines, and Octavia Tour 1.4, 1.6 and 1.8T.
Leadership among the configurations is the version with the 1.6 FSI motor and an automatic gearbox. In the cabin there are neatly fitted ups on the upholstery and high -quality materials of the finish. It is worth noting an easily readable dashboard and a convenient location of the buttons. The most noticeable difference between cars assembled in Kaluga and exported from the Czech Republic is the difference in a 17-digit identification number. Other differences could not be detected.
Not the slightest doubt in the high quality of the domestic assembly was left after the trip. No extraneous sounds, salon plastic does not rattle, everything is as it should. The new assembly place in no way affects the comfort, handling and other parameters responsible for active security.
By 2009, representatives of the Volkswagen concern promise to master the full assembly cycle, which includes welding and body painting. At the same time, the requirements for the quality of the assembly of cars will remain at the same high level.

Plans
This year, at the factory in Kaluga, two brands Volkswagen and Skoda are planned to assemble 66,000 cars. By the end of 2008, the Fabia model will join Octavia. The launch of production in Russia made it possible to significantly reduce the cost of cars.
