The latter are made of more hardy materials, and their lubrication and cooling are more effective. It doesn’t matter that Diesel lost its traction (the maximum torque here is 300 Newton meters, while the standard motor issues 340 nm), but it has become somewhat more economical and environmentally friendly.


When the battery is devastated, the hybrid moves exclusively due to the diesel engine. At the same time, the battery is recharged from the traction electric motor during braking and sometimes from an 8-kilowth generator (he is also a starter), which is given from the internal combustion engine. So even with an empty battery, the thrust on the rear axle will be supplied if necessary

On standard versions of Peugeot 508, I rode a year ago. The machine then liked the car with a clear control and an fearless attitude to the broken asphalt. A 115 kg hybrid is heavier (1770 kg versus 1655), he received other springs and shock absorbers with more rigid reptile stabilizers. Despite the increase in mass and road clearance (grew from 170 to 184 mm), the habits of the hybrid are slightly different from those in ordinary executions. It costs a lot. The 508th hybrid retained comfort, an informative steering wheel drive and lightness in reactions to the steering wheel. Having done the exercise at different angles of attack with different obstacles, I lost caution. Sucking! He crawled from him without outside help and immediately climbed under the car to evaluate the scale of the disaster. Weaved plastic protection and dripping oil (viscous, transmission?) Did not promise anything good. But there is nothing to do, under small gas, Alexei and I talked towards the very greenhouse off-road of the highway, from which we recently set sail in search of adventure.

508 RXH is a solid, well -controlled car with an excellent interior and ergonomics. Capacity of 4.5 points. Economicity is phenomenal! On average, I spent a little less than 7 liters per 100 kilometers. And this is with a dynamics of 8.8 seconds to hundreds (9.5 with a devastated battery). Full -wheel drive, an anti -column body kit and an enlarged clearance make RXH suitable for operation on bad roads and light off -road. The possibilities of the drive on the crossed areas to match the geometric cross -country ability. And that's great. Only now expensive equipment is an engine, a robotic box and rear electric motor is not protected in any way. And this is a tangible minus. In Europe, Peugeot 508 RXH only goes on sale. The cost is 45,600 euros. For comparison, the usual SW with a 163-horsepower diesel and automatic transmission costs 38 100 euros. PEUGEOT 508 RXH divides the Hybrid4 drive with the Peugeot 3008 RXH and Citroen DS5. The sequential hybrid joint development of the PSA Peugeot Citroen, Bosch (the Germans designed and release the electromechanical part), Sanyo (battery) and many other satellite companies.
