Test drive Opel Astra sedan since 2007 sedan
Opel Astra - abused it!
We continue to mock the red sedan Opel Astra, which we went to a long test. Moreover, as it turned out, not only we decided to mock this machine. Astra was attacked by robbers! In principle, nothing terrible happened. Just one beautiful night, the car lost a plastic lining on the right mirror. Moreover, it is not necessary to talk about some kind of accident in this case, because Astra was neatly parked by the right side to the side of the road, and besides, all the hilly for the corps remained intact in the case and safety itself. In general, this element becomes clear, it was simply stolen. Apparently another owner of the same red Astra. The vile person who did this if you read these lines, let you be ashamed. Very ashamed.
The last few weeks of our test have passed calmly (except, of course, the theft of the mirror overlay). Astra-Sedan still pleases the good smoothness, a huge trunk and a decent space for this class in the second row of seats. And there were no big claims to the 1.6-liter engine, even despite its volume.
But I would like to immediately warn when buying Opel Astra with a 1.6 liter engine do not count on the minimum fuel consumption. Our test showed that you should not believe passport data. According to the official information that we see on the website of the Russian representative office of Opel, when moving along the Astra highway, a sedan with a 1.6 liter engine and a mechanical gearbox should spend only 5.3-5.4 liters for every 100 km. And in the city, the consumption should be 8.8-8.9 liters. However, the real numbers were slightly different.
Of course, we perfectly understand that fuel consumption is seriously dependent on the gasket, which is located between the steering wheel and the seat. That is why a long experiment was conducted. To begin with, the driver had to ride at a regular city pace at which 80% of our drivers move. That is, you need to calmly accelerate, if necessary to overtake someone could safely burn on the gas pedal, however, to drive the tachometer arrow in the red zone and traveling around the ring faster than 140 km/h was prohibited. As a result, it turned out that our Astra with an average driver driving an average of 10.6 liters for every 100 km of track with a route of 60% city + 40% highway. And this, we repeat once again, with a calm ride in compliance with the speed limit.
And what will happen if you put a city racer behind the wheel and allow him to constantly twist the motor? In this case, the tachometer arrow rarely when it dropped below 3000 rpm (and more often there were 4000 revolutions), the dynamics of the car already began to delight the driver, and at the traffic lights it turned out to be invariably the first. But the consumption he already amounted to 15.6 liters per 100 km of path!
But what about 8.8-8.9 liters per 100 km? How to ride to meet these indicators, because they are not taken from the ceiling. Or from the ceiling? To answer this question, we began to live in super -economy: the air conditioner turned off, the engine did not promote above 2500 rpm, accelerated very slowly, tried to predict the green light in advance. In general, they were sick on the road as best they could. And as a result, we managed to ensure that the consumption in the city is the coveted 8.9 liter!
But what nerves it cost! And besides, such a riding was simply unsafe. After all, the driver's gaze was constantly attached to the screen of the on -board computer, where instant fuel consumption was shown. In addition, our car was often overtaken and cut, in the cabin, due to the conde turned off, it was stuffy (and the windows also cannot be opened with aerodynamics). And in general, there was no joy from driving a car in style in passport data. Therefore, we reconciled with the fact that in the city the car requires about 10.5 liters per 100 km. The average, in general, indicator.
