Nissan Juke test drive since 2010 SUV

Nissan Juke-R Super Drive Super

Only a few months have passed since I examined the vital Nissan GT-R organs, which were planned to place Nissan Juke inside the strongly converted body, and now I'm on the Silverstone highway. I have to run the frantic juke-r!

It is impossible to believe how a huge amount of work was done in such a short period of time with this machine, and yet we have a four -wheeled monster from Nissan, menacingly muttering after a couple of exhaust pipes. The most visual analogy of what I felt will be the following situation: the guy comes home from work, and instead of a dull girlfriend, a party with playboy girls awaits him a complete separation.

After all these teasers, descriptions, videos on the Internet and static pictures, I wondered if Juke-R would have a due impression in reality, and I should admit that the reality turned out to be such that all expectations have exceeded. No matter what you think about the screaming and ostentatious essence of this project, or even about the whole crossover segment created by Nissan using the standard Juke, standing next to the almost five hundredth Juke-R, it is impossible to experience anything other than a puppy delight.

Goals
Our plan for a day is extremely simple: to twist near the car, chat with Michael Mallok (engaged in the European Nissan division), then take a helmet and, sitting next to Mallok, drive a few circles before taking Juke-R management in its own hands.

Given the information received from the Nissan Europe about the sports division Ray Mallock Limited (RML), I expected to see a finished, neat and completely civilian car, but in reality the level of completion, accuracy and staffing of this, in fact, manually collected in the most pleasant Meaning. Some of the panels are not fitted as carefully as the serial Juke, but these are small flaws, they are easily adjusted. If you do not know the background of this car, you would never have guessed that this is the most ambitious project Sawzall Special.

Open the door and look inside: what you see will continue to contradict what can be expected to be found in the prototype salon. There is a fully completed finish, a thin fusion made of Juke and GT-R style, there are solid devices and a fashionable sensory display from Gareer and a branded central console and a torpedo from a beetle. A pair of sports seats, the lack of rear and the crossing of the pipe of the racing frame are not so thin hints that we have not just before the next Juke. Surprisingly, you will not have to bend into three deaths in order to get inside, nor protect your head at the exit.

All this is because the creative people of the European unit Nissan wanted to make Juke not just a monster capable of crazy dynamics on the track, but also quoting these guys: a car in which your grandmother could go shopping. Knowing that the car will spend a lot of time on the track in order to promote the project, they had to solve the problem of ensuring a high level of security in case the ambitions of journalists who were driving suddenly surpass their driver's capabilities. The frame, seats and seat belts are not executed to the detriment of the practicality of the cabin, they do not distract from the almost standard interior layout. The fact that Juke-R looks and feels like an ordinary car from a showroom taken on a test drive, with a frame (and air conditioning!), And not as a racing car with rooms, completely merit of RML specialists, their attention to details.

Proof of
Mallock spent several test races at the Mira site to set up the car, and each time he had to drive from the RML base located in Northemptonshire to a test track in Leiceshershire. And by a smile on his face, it was clear that these several hundred kilometers were the same fun as crazy races on the track. The car, of course, also did not go unnoticed.

Despite the fact that the main components of the engine, transmission, brakes, etc. are taken from the usual GT-R, springs and shock absorbers were configured in accordance with the shorter Juke-R base and its higher center of severity. Make sure that everything is in order, and check the work of complex stabilization systems, transmission and motor systems for that and the tests on the Mira highway were needed.

Feeling that I am starting to scratch with impatience, Mallock offers to leave the Stow highway. It is located inside the Silverstone highway, and is a small but very cunning track, which, according to Mallok, is not the best place to demonstrate all the possibilities of Juke-R. The famous British winter does not improve the situation, which decided to make us snow with rain and wind exactly when we left for the open territory of the former airfield.

From the experience of driving with Mallok, I already know that he will never put half -heartedly, if you can drown the pedal completely, and that after a leisurely sightseeing circle, which allowed him to understand that the clutch with the surface as if it had been watered with oil, he would do it A few breathtakingly fast circles on the Juke-R, and then he will drop on the pit lane so that we can change places.

The slippery surface was extremely alarming me, not to mention the fact that any flight from the highway could complete my career as a auto-journalist, and yet I ventured to make some cautious circles. If it were a half-ready dish of the day from the chef, he would not like how I smear it on a plate; But it is worth paying the Nissan Europe, in whose brief press release it was said that Juke-R in the soul of GT-R. With the average level of control from the stabilization system of the course stability (the position of the RO RECHOR R, the same as Mallock uses), I began to fill with confidence, trusted in technologies and, as it should, pressed gas to the floor.

Speed
Oh my God! The accelerated straight Nissan Juke-R swallows without chewing. Its weighty steering wheel and constant switching of the transmission with two clutches give you maximum information in what is happening and the confidence that you feel behind the wheel of the legendary Nissan flagship when its 3.8-liter V6 with a capacity of 460 hp. He carries it to a 90-degree turn in front of a series of loops, and the box switches from the 3rd to the 4th. Juke-R is as fast as GT-R. Godzilla Midzino-San? It’s better not to argue.

The speed that changes consciousness is not the only trick that Juke-R is capable of. In fact, when you enter the turn, you understand where its main trump card is. A shortened and expanded wheelbase could deliver a lot of troubles, but instead they provide the car with dynamics and athleticity, its nose literally sticks to the road, while the rear axle literally rotates around it, as in some kind of renosport cup. By pressing the accelerator pedal in the apex at the output, you feel how all -wheel drive works, how turbines pump power, and the car breaks forward.

Feeling confidence at the entrance to the turn and concentrating on exit directly and again gaining speed at the exit from it, you can feel how excessive rotation appears. Mallock claims that with a certain skill, how to load the tires, this effect can be achieved on dry asphalt.

These are my friends, an almost intrusive idea that will pursue me from the present until the next test drive, which is planned for the second part of this year. Will have to wait.
