"Japanese" on the edge of the world

The mileage was somehow outlined by itself: one of us is from Sverdlovsk, now Yekaterinburg, the other has never been in the lands there. Why not combine the memories of distant childhood and the desire to get acquainted with the Ural land closer?
This is an occasion, but the true reason: to give the real load of the editorial couple of Toyota Corolla and Mitsubishi Lancer, which before that regularly winding kilometers in the near and distant suburbs. Still passing somewhere away from the capital, evaluating the Russian service.
Behind the bustle of fees, the execution of the necessary documents. Ahead of the deserted at this early hour Gorky highway, the first refueling until the full and week of intensive communication with cars. Of course, we guessed the fact that the road would not be easy, but, frankly, we did not assume that Corolla and Lancer would have a grunt in the form of holes and pardon in such a significant amount. Probably, Russia is invincible, while there are its roads or what is called them. But all this is still ahead, but for now we enjoy the freedom of speed movement and even, beckoning the distant highway.
 
Running on candles
By the time of the start on the odometers of cars, about 14,000 kilometers. Naturally, to summarize any results early, everything works like a clock. However, chronometers have malfunctions, especially if they are placed, to put it mildly, in non -standard working conditions. The Moscow gas station turned out to be such for our couple, or rather, AI-95 gasoline, generously diluted with all kinds of additives. Toyota in this matter was lucky more than the first planned TO-10,000 revealed the inoperability of the spark plugs, abundantly covered with a reddish crochet.
After the verdict announces, the driver, of course, was not too early to be too early? After all, the car was seasoned for acquaintances, proven for more than one year, columns. But the servicemen turned out to be inexorable candles should be replaced, failures in the ignition system were marked on the motor tester.
The owner of the Lancer at first chuckled, they say, my more tolerant of all sorts of rubbish. However, the celebration did not last long at the very beginning of the run, his car began to twitch under load and after a while he lit a yellow symbol of Chesk Engine. Clutching the homegrown alchemists, they decided to pull to Yekaterinburg, because it was there that they outlined the planned TO-15,000. In response, Lancer is a little obedient, and then, having breaded Chuvash gasoline, restored the operation of the ignition system.
Interesting, but in Yekaterinburg, where we visited the branded service, I even had to insist on replacing candles. It seems that Moscow problems are unfamiliar to the mechanics there. They did not want to believe in the inefficiency of parts, the replacement of which is provided only at the mark of 30,000 km.
 
Somewhere for Kazan
Behind the first obstacle course in the Vyaznikov area, slightly patting our wards. Her repair bumps looked, of course, impressive, but quickly ended. Following Nizhny Novgorod, Cheboksary, Kazan, passed as if in one breath. The roads there, if not good, are quite tolerant: compared with the suburbs, it has become more shaking, but the cars know to yourself, allowing you to hold the given pace. We begin to look out for the signs for Izhevsk, the Perm of the proposed overnight. And then in the bright head of the landscapes, who was bored with the monotony of the landscapes, part -time navigator of the head crew, does the idea come: do not cut off part of the path, using the secondary road through the Malmyzh?
Ideally, we jump out to the town of the game, and there, you look, and not far from Perm. Against the background of accumulating fatigue, the proposal is accepted. The only thing that embarrasses oncoming and passing cars is getting less and less. When even asphalt suddenly ends with a rather tough grader, we understand: we got into. The dust is a pillar, there is not a soul around, and ahead is complete unknown and ferry crossing through Vyatka.
The photographer, of course, has finally started, but we are sad.
 
Roads of life
It turned out that the tests are just beginning. The soft and dusty either grader, or a mocking of kilometers, after thirty ended with quite tolerable asphalt. True, its main feature was the alternation of even areas with pieces of an intertwined and crushed road. It is not known what abnormal processes occur in the earth's surface there, but all local roads suffer from such stripes, which does not allow to relax for a minute.
Behind the game of the pendants of our wards, they earned in full force, the sounds of triggered limiters were heard, and began to cry out the upholstery of the salons. The struggle against the obstacles of Lancer and Toyota was perceived differently, but more on that later.
In the meantime, a short vacation in Perm, which was reached late at night. Of course, they went too far with daily mileage, but very few kilometers of four hundred kilometers left to the destination. However, the victorious attitude quite quickly replaced the gloom right in front of the eyes of the Permaterinburg highway turned into one large ditch with enormous yamishi in the entire width of the road. It’s difficult to describe what is going on there, even in the first gear, the car jumps from a bump to a bump, painfully clanging everything that is possible and impossible. What are the beauty of the Urals! At times, I want to quit everything, slap the door and stop mocking yourself and a car.
You stop, and rare cars rush past you with a terrible roar and clang and in the eyes of their drivers one would rather all end! Then we were told that the locals use this road only in case of emergency, because after a trip there and back problems with the suspension were almost guaranteed.
Of course, we dragged ourselves, but in the evening of the same day it was decided to go back as you like, not this route.
 
About poor pendants
In the very first material about Corolla and Lancer, we already concerned their resistance to road irregularities. Then Toyota seemed better adapted to the domestic operating conditions. Now the emphasis has shifted, although all the vicissitudes have clearly proven the pendants of the Korolls much more effectively damping most of the pardon. Thanks to powerful springs, and most importantly, this car is not afraid of deep transverse waves, pits, steps of asphalt. All this is quite painlessly worked out by the suspension, without causing breakdowns or excessive body buildup. Sedokov shocks, of course, pretty, but on most roads of the Russian hinterland the driver may not focus on the detour of each bump.
However, there is a reverse side of the coin. It turned out that in certain modes (110120 km/h), the car suspensions seem to be stony, trying to transfer all the small bumps of the roadway to the body. This feature gives rise to an intense chatter shaking the soul. But it is worth appearing on the pits, all this again gains performance, but on a relatively flat surface, the crew begins to ask for mercy. It seemed to us that the main reason for discomfort is too hard springs. Apparently, because of them, our Corolla did not bypass and another defect in the knock of shock absorber racks during the end of the end. It was worth a little yawn of a bedridden policeman or just a step of asphalt, a characteristic clan was immediately distributed, indicating the fully chosen course of the front shock absorbers.
Lancer he is different, more European or something. Its rather hard and elastic pendants cannot be called unambiguously comfortable. This car is also inclined to repeat in detail the profile of the roadway. However, the Lancer is alien to the side boltka, so pronounced on the Corolla, the fluctuations of the body are not so harsh and impulsive. But everything else, alas, is not perfect for the roads of the Russian hinterland. In our case, the first serious complaints to the work of pendants appeared 500600 kilometers from Moscow. Here, a shortage of energy intensity and compression stroke was very quickly felt. Once, for example, on deep transverse waves of asphalt, the car began to sway helplessly, unable to extinguish the hesitation. What can you expect from more serious obstacles! In general, about half the way, Lancer began to lag behind, losing the pace. And how else to not kill a car that is simply not designed for tankodromes. Well, the final impressions are generally akin to Toyotovsky after 810 hours of such a ride, everything hurts: what you are sitting on, what you steer and what you think.

Yekaterinburg has long been behind. In the past, his hospitality remained, beautiful, green, but for the most part such uneven streets. What to do, and in this famous city the very history of the Russian state, modern hotel buildings, dealerships and clearly overloaded Nevazhnetsky roads coexist.
Our reverse route is deprived of any experiments. Through Kasli Karabash Miass Zlatoust we get out to Ufa and further through the Naberezhnye Chelny on Kazan and Moscow. It cannot be said that in this direction everything is perfect, but at least without off -road surprises, and the area is more picturesque.
Cars are kept well done. It seems that they have already got used to endless combs, skulls, tapping and shaking, which can not be said about us. Fatigue takes its own, rolling up, it's time to take stock.
Losses? They are still not. Unless the crickets were added in the salons, but slightly fraught with the former elasticity of the suspension. The cars, of course, got it. It is somewhere near Nizhny Novgorod that they will again feel like a native and familiar elements. In the meantime, drivers have to scan the road tightly with their eyes and dodge the insidious cardobin.
By the way, on this trip, we finally were able to compare the operation of air conditioning systems. So, with bright sunlight and outcome temperatures of 2830C, the temporary difference in the operating temperature marked in the climatic chamber is noticeable without any devices (ZR, 2004, No. 6). In this matter, Corolla is nevertheless inferior to Lancer, requiring a large time and fan speed to create comfortable conditions. As a result, invigorating coolness manages to achieve in both salons, but only in Mitsubishi it comes faster.
So, over the past week on the odometers of our cars, four and a small thousand kilometers have been added. Of these, about three hundred and frankly slaughter asphalt were about three hundred. At the same time, the average fuel consumption of Toyota-Corollah was 6.9 l/ 100 km, and in Mitsubishi Lancer 6.8 l/ 100 km. Well, it’s not bad for starters, especially since there are still thousands of kilometers ahead and a lot of new impressions.
