Mazda CX-9 test drive since 2007 SUV

Unique Mazda CX-9 car

Mazda CX-9 is not just a hard six-seater crossover, but also the punishment of insurance companies. All week I went to Mazda CX-9. But why spend so much time to understand the obvious thing: any Mazda is very predictable. No need to rack your head over this product.
The buyer receives what he ordered. Is she tough? Yes. Trying to be sports? Naturally. Japanese car for ordinary businessmen? Yes! Therefore, there is no real rigidity and sports in it. This is bad? In no case! A great option for those who want an American type of Baul with European settings. Who else offers something similar? Volvo with your XC 90, Honda with a Pilot and Subaru suitcase with her Tribeca. I would call here Hyundai IX55, but European in it is zero with a wand. Audi Q7? And what can someone still afford it?
Mazda herself seriously writes into competitors Nissan Pathfinder, Toyota LC200, Volkswagen Touareg and BMW X5. Only punks who like to hang out with a crowd could compose such a company, it doesn’t matter with whom. Volkswagen does not make cars with three rows of seats, in addition, he has a pneumatic suspension and a low row with locks. BMW and Nissan Pathfinder are also five -seater, and the latter, again, has a lowering. And Toyota is completely frank SUV with an uncertain rear bridge: how can a typical Mazda CX-9 crossover compete with it, which does not even have a central blocking? We don’t even know exactly if Mazda marketer want to confuse us, whether they wander themselves in the Potmams, or maybe they surrendered to the power of fantasies.
In slavery at the cylinder
The Mazda all -wheel drive is in slavery in a fifteen -centimeter steel cylinder full of disks. At the Mazda technical conference, I saw him in the context. It is sealed, but stands in the same case with the rear differential to cool his oil. As soon as the temperature reaches 100 degrees, the discs open and the Mazda becomes front -wheel drive. As soon as the temperature drops up to 60 degrees all -wheel drive again in the ranks. But is it worth worrying? This happens only with an extreme axle. And it does not give him electronics to slip.
The coupling is generally one of the most reliable details. To make demonstration material, Mazda representatives were looking for a backing specimen, but they did not find a single dedicated coupling. I had to fork out and saw a new one.
From what I heard at the Mazda technical conference, this is not the most interesting. It was also about security. According to the internal rules, Mazda after the accident in the car changes almost everything related to passive safety. Not only the pretensors of belts and pillows of safety are in consumption. Even the wiring changes: after an electric signal passes through it to the pillows, it no longer fits the standards. Even the pillow control module is considered non -working. It is interesting that Mazda and Ford have one supplier of this module, but according to the Ford rules, it is changed only after five accidents. Insurance companies are tearing hair: after all, all supplied expenses are mainly falling on them.

The border will not win
So, Mazda is not only a spacious and reliable, but also a safe car. But how does he go off -road? At the presentation in Uzbekistan (see Club 4x4 No. 12009) there were no off-road. But in the suburbs there is much more. True, the only button on the Japanese panel, which you can rely on, is a shutdown of tracts-control. When reaching a speed of 15 km/h, electronics automatically return to work again. I found out that this is just enough to climb into the curb. Do not count on more. This car is heavy, and the engine characteristics reach their peak at too high speeds.
It is not necessary to disconnect the anti -wings system in many cases. For example, to go along the slope and buuse, it is just needed. The Mazda electronics copes with the posted wheel. Although I would prefer to ride along the crossed terrain on a lighter CC-7. It scurrys through the hills much more fun, although it is not constructively different. SC-7 is drawn to check for strength last year, we loosened half of the sand career on it, and I wanted more. And sitting in CC-9 in front of, say, snow-covered with clearing, pulls back and, having reached the nearest BP gas station, eat oatmeal and look through the fresh press. Sit and think: it's good that I did not break into this forest. What have I forgotten there? This is certainly a reasonable approach, but if you are so rational, do you need a crossover? Maybe a minivan is more suitable?
Without fifteen three, it's late
Mazda is reliably controlled even at high speeds up to 180 km/h. Perhaps I would even make his chassis a little more stupid to add smoothness and soften sharpness. But then what to do with Zoom-Zoom? You can’t understand what in reality it makes owl-uzhik in machines such as the SC-9 and BT-50. This concept is pulled on them as a narrow stocking of too tormented, it seems here. Will Mazda, her image, disappears without her? Why is he in this form? If you want to make a person actively steer, then take care so that his elbows do not rest against the armrests! Okay, let's forget that it is impossible to keep the steering wheel for fifteen-three in sporting. But even with a classic two-two-two steering wheel, sometimes you have to turn at least a little bit. Perhaps the taxi drivers will be pleased with such ergonomics: for them, the main thing is to rest the left elbow so that it is more convenient to smoke out the window and fix the right to write SMS. Is this the target audience? We expect six -seater all -wheel drive taxis in all cities of Russia.
