Last year, the CX-7 crossover was taken to us, and unlike other Europe, especially for Russia, it was completed by automatic transmission-it was from there, from America. The premiere of this year, SC-9, was not necessary to complete anything. This model is not sold in any European countries except Russia and Ukraine. Therefore, the machine comes to us with almost no changes in the design, except in the inevitable due to different standards (lighting equipment, for example).
There are precisely those features that are considered to be required for a prestigious model. This is a very large car. Very - it means 5.089 m long. A few millimeters more than even the Audi Q7, Mercedes-Benz GL or Lexus LX570. The width of the CC-9 is also approaching two meters. True, the skill of designers here manifests itself in the fact that the car does not seem so bulky. That is, the neighbors will be scared of your new Mazda, only being nearby.
I don’t know why Mazda chose Sweden for the presentation of this model, but on the roads around Stockholm, these SC-9s look almost like our seagulls looked in Moscow among the Volga-that is, as very large cars. And it was even necessary to give the difference even in design. At least in order to ensure that the buyers of the CC-7 do not throw to a new model. This is called cannibalism in the language of marketers and no one needs it at all: each new model should select the clientele from another brand, not his own. And here this problem is solved, as it were, by itself - a longer body allowed to stretch the window line, so very the bend expressed on CC-7 is almost invisible. In general, the proportions of the CC-9 create a more calm silhouette. Large and strict rear lights also change the character of the machine - something like the same costume will look more solid if you roll out the tucked sleeves and just put on a decent tie. If the CC-7 we once compared with a five-door compartment, then the CC-9 clearly resembles the modernized version of the Big Sedan. Well, yes, with six places, the fifth door and four leading wheels - well, the times are changing, and it is not necessary to try to make another copy of the Mercedes to everyone.
It seems that this is generally the only Mazda in our market, so clearly focused on moving the owner in the rear seat, and not driving. We heard a lot about the unity of a person with a car and other very beautiful and correct principles in application. other models of Mazda. They are not interesting to everyone-firstly, the same one, secondly, responsible for sales-at those moments when it helps to increase sales. In this case, the difference between two crossovers should be emphasized, so if the rear seat is in the CC-7 compared to the front-nevertheless as an economy class compared to business, then in the CC-9 passengers of the second row feel quite in a businesslike way . But there is a unique thing for Mazda - a six -cylinder engine. It is quite worthy of the flagship. This, of course, is a V-shaped motor, but quite well-balanced, and it provides a very pleasant and soft reaction to the operation with the accelerator pedal. The transmission is perfectly configured - it quickly responds to the driver’s actions and quickly switches down in almost the entire range - if necessary, she invariably jumped from the sixth gear directly to the second. And the suspension is very good for all this. In Sweden, despite the lack of mountains, there are very interesting local roads, according to the steepness of turns comparable to some melancholy or azure shore. It would be possible to compare with Karelia, but the Swedes, unlike us, almost with religious persistence believe that asphalt should lie along the entire width of the roadway, and the markings should always be visible, and not the first six months after its application. But the bends and, we are not afraid of this word, the turns here are approximately the same-and after several of them, the CC-9 convinces that he is enough to hold their breath and wait for pitching, rolls and chatterns. For this, most likely, I must say thank you not only to the front MacPherson and the rear multi -link suspension, but also to tires in size 245/50 R20. Note that the width of the profile is 245 mm and the landing diameter of 20 inches for bad roads is rather a plus than a minus. But the height of the profile is 50% for potholes and lanes - rather a minus than a plus. But we know in what mode crossovers are operating in our country.
For a typical Russian crossover, the lack of a large color screen will be a much more significant drawback. This is one of the few differences in the Russian configuration from the American one. And, it seems that it is it (along with the lack of cars for dealers until September) that allows unofficial importers to offer SC-9 for 1.8-1.9 million rubles at the official price of the Russian version of 1,582,000 rubles. With such proximity, in many respects, the lack of parking sensors or something like a rear view camera (however, it again requires a display), the drive of the trunk door (it has it) and xenon headlights will also surprise him. We heard that xenon is already moving away, and the last screech of optical fashion is LEDs. But while we would have cost Xenon ... However, Mazda seems to have decided to take care of the development of Russian business and provided the opportunity to earn on the installation of xenon, parking sensors and the like trifles to her partners.
