What to look closely if domestic brands are no longer satisfied, and you are not especially walking in the funds? Our comparative test of foreign cars produced in Russia will clarify this issue.

The domestic automobile industry is being revived today thanks to the production of foreign cars in Russian factories. Apparently, this path is very effective. The very fact that we can conduct comparative tests of such cars say a lot.
So, we decided to put next to three representatives of the new Russian automobile industry. The participants in our test are the so -called budget cars: Hyndai Accent, Kia Spectra and Renault Logan. All of them are produced by Russian enterprises. Prices for these machines, depending on the sets, vary in the range from $ 9,000 to $ 14,000. So, as you can see, they can be called an alternative to the masterpieces of domestic auto giants with a big stretch. Nevertheless, these are one of the cheapest foreign cars, albeit collected in our country.
Let's try to figure out what the buyer gets by purchasing one of these cars.
Of course, the design is not included in the list of advantages of our subjects. For example, Accent and Spectra are typical representatives of the Korean automotive industry of the beginning of this century, so their appearance cannot be called ultra -modern, although they look quite harmonious. As for the Renault Logan, the angular forms of its body are disproportionately high in the rear that the creators faced the task of making the most simple, practical and cheap car. This is not surprising, because initially Logan was created with the expectation of sale in third countries.
And what internal equipment will the cars offer us? The most empty is the test Hyundai Accent. However, in the minimum configuration ($ 11,770), this car is equipped with air conditioning, a power steering and a cassette radio. A set of options for everyday driving, you see, is quite sufficient. True, you will have to open glass manually. But the steering column is adjustable in height, which is not, for example, in Renault Logan even at the maximum level of equipment. Logan test instance ($ 13 989) - this is the most, as they say, sophisticated from the entire line of modifications of this model. The set of options here is quite ordinary: air conditioning, an audio system with a CD player, electric drive and heating of the side mirrors, electric windows.
By the way, you will not find the latter control buttons at once. And if the front, located along the edges of the central console, is easy to find, then the rear will have to look: they are hidden between the front seats, behind the handbrake. Due to a rather high landing, it will be inconvenient to reach for these keys to the rear passengers and sitting in front. Anyway, the convenience of Logan, apparently, took care of last.
The most comfortable of the entire three, with almost the same set of options, was Spectra ($ 13,320). A small advantage in external dimensions and a wheelbase makes itself felt. Unlike Logan, there is no need for a high landing, and the tall driver does not have to lightly squeeze his legs: in Spectra, there is more than enough space in length. And the seats support the body of the seated well.
Planting in Accent is the same as in Spectra, only the places are slightly smaller. However, being an Accent for a long time, you do not get tired like in Logan, which is clearly not intended for long moves. And it’s a pity, because the Russified Frenchman has the largest trunk: 510 liters. This is an incredible volume for such a small car. Perhaps this is a kind of compensation for the non -tobid back of the rear seat.
The most small trunk at Kia Spectra. Although, you see, 440 liters are also a lot, and for long moves, this car is the best as possible thanks to a soft suspension. Accent and Logan are also not stiff suspensions, but nevertheless, Spectra has the most smooth move.
I wonder how cars behave on the go? Despite the smaller volume of the Hyundai Accent engine turned out to be the most nimble of the entire three. Its 1.5-liter engine shows excellent elasticity and good traction in the entire working range of revolutions. The engines of the other two participants in the dough are 1.6-liter, but their owners do not give special abuse. True, their habits are different. So, the eight-valve Logan motor is not too burdened at low speeds and up to 3,500 rpm is rather lethargic, so you have to actively work as a gearbox lever to stay in the stream. In addition, the adhesion pedal move is too large here, and the fixation of the gearbox lever is fuzzy. In a word, this car requires special addiction.
Well, the dynamic capabilities of Kia Spectra are fully consistent with the comfortable driving, to which this machine has. The engine demonstrates good traction from the bottom, and riding in the city does not annoy the driver with the need for unnecessary manipulations. However, by 4000 rpm, the engine reduces the pace of revolutions and also becomes noisy. It makes no sense to twist it above this mark, with the exception of overtaking on the highway, when it is still necessary to gain high speeds.
But, as it happens, cars are lost in control in control. And Kia Spectra is no exception. The reactions to the rotation of the steering wheel are rather soft, when trying to quickly maneuver, the demolition of the front axis is manifested.
To assess the properties of controllability, we, as usual, conducted a series of standard tests. On the snake of Spectra, it is noticeably rolling, and with an increase in the speed of passage, the front axle slides, hiding the trajectory. However, in principle, you can adapt to this behavior of the machine by working with a small manual. Otherwise, the controllability of Spectra is understandable and predictable. And, very importantly, this machine has a large margin stability. This confirms the execution of a sharp change in the row. Responding is the most life test, and the worst thing that threatens it is a skid. Spectra copes with this exercise with honor, and in the last phase only a small steering wheel adjustment is required.
Two other participants in our test roll in a turn no less than Spectra, but more willingly respond to steering wheel turns. Hyundai Accent is very obediently dawn between the marking cones of the snake and slides a slightly rear axle, but the skid is not critical. When stopping, it is necessary to do more corrective actions by the steering wheel, but there is a very unpleasant moment - the force on the steering wheel increases when returning. Given the not very convenient two -spitting shape of the steering wheel, you need to hold on to it as strong as possible with rapid maneuvering.
The most acute reactions were demonstrated by Renault Logan. It is very famously passing the snake, but you should not get carried away: Logan is very small in the marce stability in Logan. So after performing the rearrangement, catching a car is quite difficult. Logan is more than all participants in the test. The course of course stabilization is not provided for any of the three cars, and in an extreme situation, the driver should rely only on his own strength and skills. However, in the front -wheel drive car, the additive of gas solves the problem with the ardor, although, as a rule, in an extreme situation, the natural reaction of the driver is the desire to lose gas.
Now you understand why in our case the behavior of Spectra is most preferable, which makes this car a winner in our test.
Be that as it may, all three test cars personify the tendency of formation, let's say, alternative automotive industry. So far, they do not compete with domestic brands due to a higher price, but serve as an excellent option for those who have already grown out the old Russian auto industry.
