Ford Focus can be safely called the original Russian car, because even the first generation was produced at the factory in Vsevolozhsk. Well, except that the versions of ST and RS looked like an evil, but it was supposed to, as they say, by the nature of the activity. And here is the third Focus.

The creators seemed to recall the focus-pioneer with his ringing, sharp design. Here the new design concept was very useful. Of course, we are talking about the style of Kinetic Design, which today promotes the blue oval. The car turned out to be more interesting and brighter than its predecessor. Focus has become more original. However, the new design, definitely, takes time to get addicted. The front bumper with triangles turned out to be a complex shape, such a decision cannot be understood and immediately cannot be taken. My gaze does not want to personally be friends with the intricate rear lights on the hatchback, which very deliberately crawl on the wings. I would like to believe that restyling will solve this problem.

But the appearance of the sedan liked it. The trunk here is lean, not so suitcase as on the second part. Optics is also good, pointed, but without excesses. Yes, and the entire body is okay, substetricians and faces are appropriate. A light and moderate image is created. A new line is neither to give!

From now on, Focus will be offered only in three basic types of body (I do not take into account the coupe-cabriolet). The station wagon will appear soon, but you should not wait for the three -door version, since on its existence the developers put a cross. At the same time, they made a curious decision to release a universal in the heated version of ST a little later. If he was at least all -wheel drive, and so ...
It's nice that the car was pre -which was not only externally. Radical changes comprehended the salon. Unlike the same Sivica that we were tested not so long ago, the interior here is completely new, and he plays at the same time with his appearance. The third generation is focused on the driver, it creates his mood, adds a little pepper and gives fire. And if so, then the previous, rather dull salon, even if in a very shirted form, would be inappropriate in the format of a new car.

The design of the front panel was a success. It is put forward and as if it wrapping around the driver’s place, which creates a similarity of a feeling of being in a cockpit sitting at the wheel. I remember that before BMW cars were famous for this approach. And now Ford Focus.

The front panel is broken, it rings the conjugation of cunning faces, and it is pleasant to the touch, all of it is made of elastic plastic. Touching your hands is a pleasure. And other decoration materials are good. The door panels in the upper part are also soft (though, as it was possible to find out later, not on all trim levels, on the cheap there are hard). The central console is finished with painted silver plastic, which does not look cheap. Under the visor, a color display is found, on which the control of certain functions of the car is displayed. Under the display is a black spineol block, it is echoed by the design with the previous focus, as well as the control of a separate climate control.

The color display of the triple-computer is found between the spectacular wells of the devices. The graphics are solved in unison with the central display, pretty, and the resolution of the screenwriters is high. A good and multifunction steering wheel with comfortable tides in the seals of the grip. The seats are leather, and the driver's driver with electroregies. They are not as sports as, for example, Honda, but in general comfortable and fixation is acceptable.

The power unit, thanks to a solid torque, is confidently pulling the car in all programs. And the character is quite rate of fire and smooth 6-speed automatic transmission is well suited to him. True, Power Shift is not as smoothly touching as a classic machine gun with a hydrotransformer. And a quick shift in transmissions in the usual algorithm can turn into a small pause, if, for example, instead of an increased suddenly asking for a reduced motor.

Ford unusually implemented a manual switching mode. There is no special groove for a checkpoint or steamed switches, but on the lever itself, a small bicarry button lurked in the end from the driver's side. By pressing up/down/down, we give commands to the machine gun. The solution, of course, is elegant, but too original. How long will it take to get used to it is incomprehensible.

Good, of course, diesel, but, gives me up, not for our lives. A car with such a motor will pull a million rubles, but will not pay off soon when saving 2-3-4 liters per hundred kilometers. This is given that heavy fuel costs almost as much as the most popular gasoline. Therefore, enjoying powerful dense accelerations, I change the hatchback without regret to a silver gasoline two -liter sedan to go from Gelendzhik to Sochi.

This road gave me the answer to the question, why was it so dramatically changing the appearance and insides of the car. To reconfigure the suspension and steering (the focus is now a full -fledged electric power). This is so that the driver at the wheel is enjoying driving. I am not saying that the predecessor was driving poorly and managed badly. No, but did this, unlike the modern model, without fire and bag.

The advantage of the focus suspension is that it, being well adapted for bad domestic roads, allows the driver to feel the car and control it with the most pleasure. I remember when I once tested Mondeo, I noted that you can bring down the broken asphalt without fear of breakdown of the suspension and not really fearing for the wheels (because the profile was moderate). At the same time, I repeat, feeling the car.

Here is Focus III of the same. The suspension is generally comfortable, but at the same time elastic, tightly knocked down. Loyal to the rut and bad road. With good energy intensity. The steering wheel is sharp, it makes a little more than 2.5 revolutions from the stop, which corresponds to a car with sports deposits. At the same time, the machine is shod in 17-inch tires. I believe that more on our roads is not necessary. And if you need a little more comfort and smoothness, then you can safely take the 16th radius. Having lost a little in handling, the machine will acquire additional versatility.

Therefore, I twisted the steering wheel on serpentines with pleasure. Imitation of inter -long blocking in front provides good assistance. It sharply reduces insufficient rotation, allowing both an experienced and not very driver to go faster. An independent rear suspension provides a good holding. The reactions to the work of the throttle are soft and affectionate. For gas reset, the machine delicately rounds the trajectory.

The Duratec two -liter engine has been a little updated. The company's engineers installed a direct fuel injection on it, calling by analogy with competitors from Mitsubishi GDI. The character of the motor is quite even, with the same disclosure in the upper speed range. Responses to the work of gas pedal are quite predicted, but a little lack of sharpness. There is nothing to be done, ecology.

The dynamics of a two -liter version are enough on the handle and with Power Shift. There were no complaints about the brakes either, however, at a stop after one of the distillations, I felt a distinct smell of fried pads. The practical qualities of the machine in comparison with the predecessor have changed in the nuances. Interesting innovations affecting safety were added. The car remained practical, comfortable and adapted to our realities, but from now on, it gained several features of an emotional sense. Both in design and character.
