When I ordered a short test at the DS4 representative office, by the time the car was obtained, it turned out that my negligent colleagues-journalists attached something well. Therefore, the most popular version of DE ESKI required repair. But, as you know, there is no thin one without good for me to take away from some employee of the Citroen representative office the most pumped up 200-horsepower version with a mechanical gearbox. I think comments about the dynamics are not required. Typically, a frantic stool speaks about such creatures. But here I categorically disagree. The fact that frantic is undoubtedly, but not a stool at all, but, as I said the design studio. At the end of the driving characteristics of a couple of phrases. The trajectory holds perfectly. True, I can quite reliably assume that in the winter on ice with such a mosquito at the front of the DE-ESK, it will be very much demolished to the external radius and the driver will need not so much skills in this acrobatics as the presence of brains in the cranial box. The suspension can be said very briefly. It works for four four with a plus, but does not like steps. I do not mean the staircases (I did not ride them), but transverse protrusions on the road. For example, high -altitude joints of plates. The rear suspension immediately pierces at all. This, frankly, does not cause joy. Otherwise, the driving is very driven. I really liked the designer move with a tachometer.

Actually, the tachometer is small and in it during missile acceleration is not visible (it is better to look at the road at the same time). But! A very important detail. When the engine speed reaches maximum, the backlighting of the tachometer sharply changes its color to red. With peripheral vision, this is well recognized, and keeping the engine in the right mode is not particularly difficult. Well invented! And further. I was frankly delighted with the clearance. 170 mm! Just class. You climb into any border without hesitation. For any pardon and any pit, you go king (within the rational limits, of course). Moreover, in the appearance of the car, this does not catch the eye and looks absolutely harmonious.

Now about the general concept of the car. One of my highly educated colleagues (I am not ironic), asking the same question, wrote: initially it was conceived as a kind of synergy of the hatchback, coupe and crossover. It was in the torment of their crossing that the DS4 image with swollen wheel arches, hidden hinders of the rear doors and a wide open -radiator grill with a wide -open mouth. After reading this, I felt my inferiority complex growing. Fortunately, the Internet is sideways (more precisely in front of my nose), and I rushed into the World Wide Web in order to do the Likbez and find out what the original Russian word synergy is. I read: synergy, synergistic effect an increase in the efficiency of activity as a result of a combination, connection, integration, merge of individual parts into a single system, thanks to the emergence of the resulting system. Then I realized that in life something clearly passed me. What is the Schrödinger equation in quantum mechanics, but what is emergency, alas, past money. Okay, I will not torment you, but I will say simply and, I hope, understandable. The French idea to make a stylish car that not only combines the properties of a hatchback, compartment and crossovers, but also improves the most profitable sides of these layouts. In how I put it! Almost in Russian.

It is amazing that this product, clearly created for aesthetes, has not at all lost in its utilitarianism. It is not only sought by execution, but also quite functional. Yes, I agree the price bites. But for centuries, it has always been paid for beauty. No one is embarrassed by the price for a piece of faceted carbon called diamond. And how much is paid in other cases for the brand! So you have to put up with this. And the walls about the fact that the trunk opening is small, the loading height has grown, the rear windows do not drop, I do not accept. In the Porshce 911, it is generally trouble with the trunk, but I'm not talking about the rear seats at all. If you want to take it easier and cheaper, and rejoice in life.
Two months later, I managed to travel on a 150-horsepower deesus with an automatic gearbox. The motor turned out to be nimble and well agreed with a six -speed automatic. I did not find any significant differences in the character from the 200-horsepower version. The peculiarity, perhaps, is that, oddly enough, the habits of this version are more sports than a powerful sister. That is, the brain of 150-horsepower DS4 is initially pointed on an instant jerk. It turned out so only you will teach Deesk a calm ride, only you score in her mind the manner of a street racer, as, with the first intensive acceleration, everything is forgotten and a pretty baby grows the earth again. In traffic jams, I must say, it is annoying. By the way, in terms of acceleration dynamics, it is inferior to 200-horsepower with mechanics only one second (9.00 seconds to hundreds versus 7.98). This feature of character is naturally converted into expenses. Even official Citroenovo: 150-horsepower in the city cycle consumes 10.6 l/100 km, and 200-horsepower only 8.4 l/100 km! In fact, in Moscow with its crazy traffic, the consumption on both ranged within 12-13 liters per hundred.
Moscow, this, of course, is a complete clue! I will share a recent supervision that does not apply to Citroen, but the tendency is common to everyone. A certain modern passenger car traveled around Moscow for several years with a stable consumption of 14-15 l/100 km. He, having moved to Europe (northwest of France), began to consume 8-9 liters with the same master. Maybe there are smaller kilometers there? Well no. Just better gasoline, the roads are cool and human traffic.
And now a few numbers. They, of course, are to some extent abstract, but, in general, are very close to reality. So how much is the design? Starting expenses.

Operational costs, based on the fact that the owner passes 20,000 km per year and travels three years without breakdowns and accidents.
