The Chevrolet Cruze snow -white sedan, on which we wound more than 4 thousand kilometers, returned to the General Motors representative stall, but we did not end a long Cruise test. And all because we were interested in not only the most expensive version of Cruze 1.8 LT with an automaton, but also more affordable modifications. Are there any differences in the interior decoration? Did no sound insulation cut? How is Cruze 1.6 going? To answer these questions, we took another Cruze, simpler.

Meet Cruze LS with a 1.6 -liter and mechanical checkpoint engine (we specially took a version with a manual box). Such a car costs 621 thousand rubles, but optional alloy-deposited 16-inch discs and metallic color increased the price to 641 thousand. But still, it is 163 thousand cheaper than the Cruze 1.8 LT we tested. And this difference is not only on the account of the power unit.

And the whole difference in the decoration is reduced only to the smooth plastic of the central console and the bare left knitting needle of the steering wheel due to the lack of cruise control

What does the buyer lose when choosing LS execution? Yes, in fact, nothing! It will hardly be possible to regret the absence of cruise control or two additional speakers of the audio system. Cruise management in Cruise is not very successful, which Vitaly Kabyshev wrote in a report on a trip to Nikola-Lenivts. Yes, and music will not satisfy music lovers even in the top version of Chevrolet Cruze. You can safely save on these points.


The most expensive (40 thousand rubles) and the most unnecessary option leather salon (in the photo on the right). Firstly, the interior with fabric inserts on the front panel looks much more interesting and pleasant. Secondly, the seats with leather upholstery were unfriendly struggling to fuck after an hour of driving. The only plus of practicality when cleaning is leveled by a bright color, and other options for a leather cabin for Cruise are not proposed

Management that climate control that air conditioning in Cruise is quite convenient. The buttons in choosing a blowing direction reduce the number of manipulations, and the adjustment handles are identical. And this is a minus - it happens that a driver or a front passenger hurt them. By the way, we scolded Cruze with a climate for the fact that the AQS system designed to monitor the quality of the air in the cabin does not cope with the exhaust gases of the bells of the trough and lets them into the salon. Moreover, the forced use of the regime of air recirculation helps only partially. Alas, in Cruise with a conventional air conditioning, the situation is similar. You will have to endure a traffic jam with a murdered engine

But there is also the reverse side of the coin. For Cruze LS, only air conditioning climate control is not available, without options. Is the loss small? On the one hand, yes. But losing automatic control of flows and a fan, Cruze receives a mocking small double -line display at the top of the central console. And the complexity is not only in the size of the thoroughly backlight makes it blind in sunny weather. By the way, with a conventional air conditioning, you can not use the menu automatic inclusion of the heating of the mirrors and rear windows when starting the engine in cold weather.


Due to the small display, it is extremely inconvenient to change the settings on the menu, and because of the weak backlight in the afternoon, it becomes virtually useless. The larger and brighter screen of Cruze LT (at the top right) even far from the ideal, but at least does not lose functionality depending on the time of day

But Parktronik on beige Cruise was not factory! And we can safely state that from the whole variety of Chinese junk, dealers have clearly established the best option. Compared to full -time radars on white Cruise, these products do not withstand any criticism and delay are large, and the distance between the change in the frequency of signals is much less. Either silence, then yelling as cut. In general, if without parking, it is better to pay 10 thousand for the option installed at the factory.


If the Cruze LT is equipped with 17-inch wheels, then on LS wheels are less than 16-inch. In terms of design, this, of course, is a minus. But the smoothness of the stroke on the temperature of the roads on more fat tires became a little better, although Cruze remained tough enough. In addition, the dimensional tire of 205/60 R16 is much cheaper than tires 215/50 R17

We took this Cruise with a mileage of 1200 kilometers, so crickets have not yet settled in the cabin, and the suspension has not always reacted with plaintive loaf to all the charms destroyed by the temperature temperatures of Moscow streets. Noise insulation of a simpler Cruise did not become worse. But the main revelation in acoustic comfort was the engine fundamental difference between the LS and LT sets. Cruze LT cannot be obtained with a junior engine. But this is good or badly tell the next time.
