In a word, I had no choice but to refresh the impressions of Cadillac SRX and evaluate it from the point of view of a corporate buyer.

On the one hand, he is quite capable of satisfying the driver’s driver's ambitions, if he wants to drive. On the other hand, it makes it possible to calmly work or relax in a convenient rear seat on the way to the office or at a business meeting.
 
The verified running qualities of Cadillac SRX are provided with the latest technologies. The electronically controlled system of constant all -wheel drive turns a long trip in any weather on a pleasant journey. Of course, it is not worthwhile to cross rivers and swamps - the sRX clearance is relatively small, the differential locks are not provided, and you can’t call the strokes of pendants too great. But it is precisely such constructive solutions that give a feeling of superiority on roads with any coating and provide excellent comfort.
 
What is at least the Magnetic Ride Control system! Shock absorbers are able to change the stiffness almost instantly - it all depends on the quality of the road and speed. As for the dynamics, so many classmates can envy SRX. The volume of 4.6 liters installed under the hood V8. It develops a power of 320 liters. With. Not only is the powerful power unit guaranteeing a selection from the bottom itself, so American engineers provided it with a system for changing the phases of gas distribution. As a result, SRX accelerates as a racing trolleybus - quickly, confidently and without failures. A 5-speed automatic transmission does not allow a hint of thoughtfulness inherent in large American cars, it is quite European-no pauses, the transition from one step to the other is performed quickly and smoothly. And it is worth shifting the lever to the left, as the sports algorithm of the box is turned on - he pressed a little on the accelerator pedal, as the tachometer arrow is almost immediately in the red zone. You can go from one step to another, pushing the lever up/down.
 
The brakes also deserve separate praises - the pedal force is clearly dosed, and the slowdown is such that you can especially not worry about speed.
 
Against the background of such characteristics, you somehow cease to think about the steering - and after all it is configured with knowledge of the matter. When parking from the driver, minimal efforts are required. At a quick move is another matter, the steering wheel is noticeably heavy. Let it are not talking about severity and absolute informativeness - SRX is still not a sports car, but a large and luxurious SUV - it’s not at all difficult to get used to the steering wheel.
 
The subject of pride
 
If Cadillac did not guarantee comfort inside and did not delight the quality of the interior decoration, it would no longer be Cadillac. At the same time, there is little left in the SRX from the new world. For example, the AKP handle is located exactly where the Europeans and the Japanese are used to seeing it on a massive central tunnel, and not under the steering wheel. The seats do not resemble soft home chairs, have developed lateral support, but they are very convenient in them. The widest range of electrical adjustments leveles the only noticeable Americanism - the ability of the steering wheel to move only by inclination, but not by departure. In addition, you can raise or lower the pedal node, and also using an electric drive. Something I do not remember such an option in the basic versions of expensive European SUVs. And finally, Cadillac will not yield to competitors from the Old World either by the accuracy of the gaps, or in the quality of materials - skin and wood.
 
The front panel, instrument panel and console are almost the same as in the CTS sedan. But the cup holders and multibody compartments for small things in SRX are much larger. Yes, and for a large -sized cargo, the place is quite enough: the trunk has a volume of 918 liters, and easily turns into a semblance of a table for playing an American pool, if the rear seats are folded - in this case, from the floor to the ceiling and the front seats to the rear door, a useful one is formed space in 1968 liters. By the way, seats are formed both entirely and in parts.
 
However, for the president, something else is important - the fact that in the back seats there is a lot of space for the legs and above the head (there may not be a roof on top, but a huge panoramic hatch). In a word, it is no worse than in a representative sedan. In addition, it is possible to equip the salon by installing, for example, a liquid crystal screen for watching films from DVDs.

All this is in standard configuration, and for very moderate money compared to most competitors.
