One of them was reminded by a garage neighbor, a racer. Recently, he bought himself a new middle -class station wagon with a diesel engine and complained - they say, he nevertheless rubbeds like a tractor, and he carries a diesel fuel from him. Yes, diesel BMW is a completely different matter, ”the neighbor concluded. - If I had not put my ear to the hood, I would never have believed that this X-third eats the same diesel fuel. I will add from myself that there is no smell of diesel fuel in my garage boxing, and filters in the exhaust system are perfectly coping with their task. But the car passed more than 25,000 kilometers.
The motor eats what they give him
Of course, the main question that torments the fifth rider, like any other owner of a diesel machine, is the quality of Russian fuel. I know only one gas station in Moscow, on the Leningrad highway, where an imported diesel fuel is always sold. However, you won’t go there, and I myself would confess, I got in where it was necessary, although I always prefer branded gas stations belonging to famous companies - some kind of guarantee. And I have not experienced problems until now.
The three -liter diesel seemed to me not only a very quick, but also highly reliable power unit. By the way, this motor is also installed on X5 (though in this case, it is 14 forces more powerful, but also a 250 kg machine is heavier), as well as for BMW cars of the 3rd, 5th and 7th episodes. In general, a turbocharged engine with a direct fuel injection system of Common Rail and intermediate cooling of a boost air is able to digest even Russian fuel.
As usual, I always listen to how the motor breathes. And if I don’t like something in his singing, I try to understand the reason and eliminate it. Therefore, after I heard excessively metal notes, I checked the level of oil - it was close to a minimum - and added one and a half liters. Without waiting for the corresponding indicator on the dashboard. X3 gratefully took a fresh sip, especially since there was only about a thousand km until the next one remained, and sang his usual, bass and exciting voice in his voice. Yes, it is 410 Nm of torque gives such accelerating dynamics that they will lead anyone. However, I managed to say about this in previous publications about X3.
Now I note that on summer tires, fuel consumption has decreased a little more, and now it is, according to the indications of the on -board computer, 11.2 liters per 100 km of run. That is, the SUV demonstrates a very moderate appetite, given the Moscow traffic jams and the fact that if I break out of them, then I go for all the money.
Picnic
What is still remarkable BMW X3 is its appearance and considerable opportunities. It looks equally appropriate at the entrance to the bank, at the parking golf club or in some bear corner. Here in one of these corners - the rarest case - my friends and I sortie a warm spring day.
The four were located in the car with all amenities. Moreover, the couple behind, for the first time set off on a trip to X3, did not hide the enthusiasm for the spaciousness and place for the legs, refusing to discard a wide armrest from the back of the middle seat, because it disconnects us. In the trunk, which, by the way, even more than in X5, filled a lot of all sorts of things and food supplies. I knew for sure that the good half would have to be taken back, but did not mind - 480 liters (1560 with folded rear seats) - this is a sufficient volume so as not to refuse the ladies in their desire to cover the real festive table, albeit on the grass.
We go to the Moscow Ring Road, then on a wide and fairly free route in the early morning hour, and I hear behind: an amazingly smooth move! Good compliment to the car. In addition, this is a real truth. So only a rear -wheel drive car can go. And at high speeds it is precisely that and the x3 turns. The XDRive all -wheel drive system, which, under the start or under other conditions of movement, transmits torque to all four wheels, distributing it at its discretion, now, at the straight line, it allowed a multi -disc shame to completely open. And the SUV rushed gently and confidently, like a regular business class car.
So, to good music, in an hour and a half we flew to the desired congress on a secondary winding path. Here I was unable to deny myself the driver of excitement, reveling in a perfectly configured steering control and passing the turn over the bend to the intelligent wink of the DSC dynamic stabilization indicator (it, in general, does not interfere, although it can be turned off). Alas, all this did not last long: a mournful voice came from the back seat: he was rocking!, And from the front: So you can turn all five salads into one! Okay, let's go without lateral overloads.
At the congress on the country road, where I had to go around the pits and potholes, I once again paid tribute to the steering wheel settings. The amplifier seemed to work in the optimal mode, and the very three three turns of the steering wheel from the stop to the stop, which caused my displeasure in the city, were just right here. By the way, I wouldn’t dare to climb on a serious off -road, but we left without problems by jamming on the desired lawn. The sun, the greens around, the air is clean and fresh of the lapot!
Business is what you need
In a word, dear reader, I’ll sincerely tell you: BMW X3 3.0D is the car that personally suits me in many ways. He is comfortable, reliable, fast and at the same time economical. So buy it to yourself! - You can say. I'll think about it, I will answer. And if I decide, then, perhaps, I will choose the Business package. It includes everything that is necessary with daily operation of the car - a decent audio system, leather decoration of the cabin, multifunctional (and very convenient) steering wheel, of course - cast discs and xenon headlights, and also highly useful sensors, like that monitors what follows For tire pressure. It is not possible that the hatch is in the roof, but this is a completely fixable thing.
Such a version is, of course, a lot - 56,900 euros. But the BMW X3 - this, I repeat what was said in one of the materials, is not a simple SUV, but SAV - Sport Activity Vehicle. In the full sense of this phrase.
