A car for active drive is difficult to imagine five -door. And BMW fans were forced to reconcile their principles with Munich marketing policy. But only until March this year when the BMW 1-Series in three-door format was shown at the Geneva Motor Show. The doors are smaller, access is more difficult, but the appearance is hotter and more sports.

 
The bunny of the penny is changed at the restyling level. That is, it became no better, but in a different way: just to give a little freshness to new developments. The central air intake has already become longer, the former rounds of fog headlights disappeared, and the pointed corners of the nostrils polished to the ovals.

Nobody doubts that BMW make powerful engines for fast cars. But there is another prejudice associated with the logical (speaking power) conclusion: Bavarian engines are also distinguished by excellent appetite!
 

The Munichs were seriously concerned about the image and saving of fuel, therefore, together with a penny, they presented Efficientdynamics (effective dynamics) the latest development of the company, including a whole range of instruments to reduce fuel consumption.


While a person is blinking, piezoinecectors in the new four -cylinder engines BMW (118i and 120i) are injected into the cylinders of 200 portions of fuel. New technologies allow such engines to work on a depleted mixture even at high speeds, which leads to a decrease in fuel consumption.
 

And so that the engines do not work idle, all power plants with mechanical transmissions equipped the Auto Start Stop disabled function. This subsystem independently changes the motor when it works idle. It is worth turning on the gear again and the engine comes to life again.
 

But not only in the BMW engine they saw the potential to save fuel. Previously, removing the leg from the gas pedal, the driver wasted the engine energy. Now everything is different. The generator converts the inhibition energy into electricity and charges the battery. Thus, the battery selects less energy from the engine, which means that fuel consumption is reduced
 

The Efficientdynamics complex includes a steering wheel, which also takes care of saving fuel. Unlike hydraulic power, it does not work during a straightforward movement, but begins to select energy only when necessary: \u200b\u200bin corners and in maneuvers.

 

Another way to save a couple of drops of gasoline to teach the driver not to burn him in vain. To do this, BMW engineers placed a shift indicator on the central console (in cars with a mechanical KP), which shows when and where (up or down) it should be switched.
 

And finally, the BMW designers came to mind the most unexpected solution can save fuel by reducing the aerodynamic resistance of the machine. Vertical electric shutters were placed in the branded nostrils, which overlap the input holes for cooling the radiator. At high speeds (also with an unheated engine), the sash automatically close, reducing the fuel consumption, and at low speeds or when the motor requires cooling, they, on the contrary, are closed.

Ceiling: For BMW, the concept is relative. BMW 130i with a Sport Edition package of metallic color costs 1,307,612 rubles. But this is far from the limit
 
BMW is not created for a straightforward driving. Some, at least. Munich technology is built with an eye on turns, turns and turns, overtaking and restructuring. If you keep the transmission in a sports mode, and the turnover in the upper zone, you can squeeze the correct rhythm of movement from the engine. But in the BMW 118i, the engine is not the main thing. Among all the relative advantages of a car like engine power, design or comfort, there is absolute advantage: chassis.
 

Better BMW is controlled and nothing is controlled better in this price category! When the drive falls on the rear wheels, and the steering wheel is connected with the front, the mass is equally divided between the axes, and the strict DSC stabilization system obediently, but selectively closes its eyes to some pranks of the driver, the alternative is not needed.
 

A penny remains a typical representative of the family, whose main values \u200b\u200bto give pleasure to everyone who is driving.
