It was felt that the design of TT laid a greater potential than the one that was implemented in a civil modification. Indeed, the Audi was born by the combat version of the coupe, which received the designation of Quattro Sport. As the name implies, the responsibility for the preparation of the car lies with the specialists of the QUATTRO GmbH unit. I must say that the fashionable word Sport here is not an empty phrase. Audi TT Quattro Sport is exactly the sport, in the correct sense. Sports without compromises.
Outwardly, this is one of the best (if not the best) TT options. 18-inch 15-spoke discs look amazing, S Line body kit also leaves no chance of critics. Well, the black roof makes it clear: before us is a special version. By the way, the mirrors are also black. Like the exhaust pipes. Aesthetics!
I open a wide, but very low door and evaluate the chances of a trouble -free hit inside. Since when did the difficulties arise in Audi TT? Recently, when deep racing buckets Recaro were installed in the car. I had to form in three deaths and carefully squeeze the body inside. The chair was surprised by a vertical landing - I wanted to remove the jacket and lower the back a little. Having shown the miracles of dexterity, I coped with the first task, but the second turned out to be unsolvable. The bucket can only be moved forward/back. Strict sports discipline.
In general, I had to get used to a straight back. As well as insufficient adjustment of the steering wheel in the vertical plane. And I always warned a passenger who was about to take a chair in the neighborhood to carefully sit down. They taught precedents with unsuccessful landings of previous fellow travelers to the fifth point.
Looking back, I did not find places +2 that are on civilian tt. That's right, in the fight against excess weight they were removed. The rear racks are now connected by the spacer, and the luggage compartment is fenced with a net. Neither give nor take - car! The steering wheel, the gearbox lever and the handbrake are decorated by suede. The solution is rare, it looks beautiful, but subjectively to the touch is not too successful - without gloves, the hand slides. The steering wheel is small, it makes a little more than 2.5 revolutions from the stop. Small steering wheel. The pedals, as usual, are equipped with polished metal overlays. Instead of climate control - an ordinary stove: winnings in weight - 12 kg!
The fight against weight, by the way, went in many directions. As a result, the specialists of the QUATTRO department managed to make TT Sport 75 kg lighter than the stock version with the 1.8-turbo engine. And here it is better to hang along the axes: the floor of the back of the body is borrowed from the 3.2-liter model, which allowed the battery to transfer to the trunk.
By the way, the lack of seats adjustments, as it turned out, is to a certain extent compensated by the possibility of their transformation. The suede elements of the profile are attached on Velcro, easily dismantled and installed in the right place. For example, it became much more convenient for me when the lumbar wandshon was glued just below. Another curious detail - the frames of the seats are painted in the color of the body. And one more - they have no heating.
However, it's time to start the motor. You do not have to be seven spans in the forehead to understand all the advantages of the use of a light turbocharger on a compact compartment. Of course, there are plenty of advantages in the 3-liter engine. This is a lot of power, and a flat shelf of torque. However, it feels like a heavy motor is worse than this authotibil. But with a small 1.8-liter turbo coupe turns into a quick and well-controlled shell. A surprisingly accurately working mechanical gearbox with a short -term mechanism allows you to forget about DSG - it is not needed here at all. After all, sport involves the personal implementation of all the important operation of machine management!
The car is cramped, a couple in reactions. The pleasure of driving is unusual. With a lighter front, TT willingly dive into turns, the car answers the steering of the steering lightly. A hard suspension conquered the energy intensity. It is short -term and, nevertheless, to sufficiently provides comfort. The car passes uneven, only elasticly bouncing on them.
Another special TT dish is acceleration. The compartment reaches 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds - a decent indicator. The motor is truly revealed after 2000 revolutions, the flat shelf of the moment is available in the range from 2300 to 5000. After approximately 3800 rpm - a powerful pickup. Now the main thing is to quickly and clearly switch, so as not to fall into a turbo yam. With such a gearbox and a well -minded clutch, it is relatively easy to do it. I managed to accelerate to 240 km/h. There was snow under the wheels, chalk a blizzard, but there was no hint of loss of control over the machine.
In the center of the console is a number of round buttons. One of them with the inscription ESP, and everyone who wants to get a maximum of positive emotions on TT will definitely press it. I pressed. Frost made the roads with snow-vanishing, and it was possible to exercise in the passage of turns onto the passage of the turns.
As you know, at the heart of the all -wheel drive TT - a multi -disc booth controlled by electronics, which distributes torque through the axes, as they say, in real time. System settings are truly driver. The car is exhibited itself, you just need to take the steering wheel and increase the fuel supply. The process is easily controlled, the car is very obedient. Perhaps winter and slippery roads are the best time of the year to implement all the possibilities of all -wheel drive transmission. By the way, I got used to the vertical landing very soon and got into the chair. However, it is impossible to recommend TT Quattro Sport as a vehicle for each day. Such a car should stand in the garage, wait in the wings. In general, this small missile is best taken to the highway, it will be crowded in the city.
