Volvo S80 survived restyling. A well -lived car was younger and became more perfect. The high ratio between the number of high -quality safe car and its price remains unchanged.
 
Changes in appearance, formally, a little. New chrome details - a little: a strip of molding and inserts into the door handles. Small, almost invisible changes in the shape of the front, the appearance of LEDs in the posterior optics ... However, the emotional perception of the machine has become different: Volvo S80 now looks more fit and dynamic than a pre -restyling version.
 
It is impossible to say that the technical filling has changed a lot. It is different here: it can be changed if the buyer desired: you just order a car with an active Four-C chassis, already tested on the S60R model. The system was developed in conjunction with such a respected company as Ohlins Racing AB, and therefore it is easy to guess that we will talk about shock absorbers.
 
Using its sensors, the electronic system receives information about the parameters of the car’s movement as a whole, that is, about lateral/linear speeds and accelerations, about the operation of suspension parts (drawing conclusions about the condition of the road surface) and moving controls (comparing their intentions with the will of the driver).
 
Actually, a person can choose between the movement in comfortable mode, when the system takes care first of all that as little disturbances from the road, or in sports, are transmitted to the body. In the second case, priority for ensuring the maximum appropriate distribution of wheel pressure to the ground to achieve high clutch properties, extinguishing the rolls in the bend and occurrence, speaking of the marine language, the diphtherent with intense acceleration and slowdown.
 
Unfortunately, in Russia we were not able to find the S80 with the C-Four system. Therefore, further we will talk about the behavior of a machine with a conventional suspension, an atmospheric five -cylinder engine 2.4 and a mechanical five -speed KP. Why such a poor modification?
 
She has one important feature: price. Agree, 40 thousand dollars for a business sedan of a respected company is a rare offer.
 
The most modest in the range of the engine was quite powerful and the moment, at least paired with mechanics. Well, the sound of the exhaust may seem even too assertive and sports for a car of this class.
 
The driver’s sensations are simply good: it's nice to deal with a correctly configured car. Management is light and responsive, dimensions are felt for sure. The updated S80 easily enters the turn, does not show a tendency to instability on the arc. What else is needed for a calm comfortable trip?
 
Of course, chic, which is present in cars worth a hundred thousand, is not here. However, there are no attempts, usually awkward, create such a feeling. This is just a light and harmonious car for people without complexes.
