All the time, while there was a press conference about the new car on all the hands of the car, scraps from hits spun in my head, in which one way or another a dream of an ideal life partner was sung. I am what I need, so that I do not drink, do not smoke ... VW managers, in essence, sang about the same thing. Although in your own way. The difference is that the numerous advantages of the new MPV (Multipurpose Vehicle), in their opinion, should not be evaluated by loners, but by the already prevailing public cells. How much VW Touran corresponds to the ideal, to them, future owners, and decide. So, get acquainted.
Seven on the shops. Touran is Sharan's younger brother. On the one hand, on the one hand, one could guess by name. On the other, the name is deceptive. Because Touran is designed not only for tourist trips, but also for workdays. In fact, the need for such a pair as MPV, and now rather big, and in the future it will only grow. This is indicated by both the fact - the largest sales volumes in several European camps at once, and the VW forecast, which already sets up the capacity of the conveyor in Wolfsburg for the production of 200 thousand cars annually. VW Touran, hoping in the concern, should become the first guy in his segment. Not only a completely new appearance will help him in this. The photo, by the way, does not lie. That is, this is not the case when, thanks to photogenicity or due to the lack of such a photographic one, it turns out better or worse than in life. Because Touran is as it is. Like - good. I don't like it - do not drink water from the face. Evaluate better his rich inner world, which is also capable of amazing transformations.
The number of these transformations reaches 500. That is, exactly so many interior options you can create with your own hands if you work correctly with passenger seats. In general, there are five of them in serial configuration. Or four, if you want to put a bar-chronicle between the back seats. Seats can be left less. How much you wish. This is called flexible diversity. The chairs can be - together or by separateness - to shift, fold, lay out or remove at all, replacing what you need at the moment: skiing, bicycles, suitcases, seedlings ... An additional third row is ordered and installed. His chairs, unnecessarily mention, are also arbitrarily folded or dismantled. Actually, kind words for the third row are rarely sincere. He is for poor and thin relatives who will tolerate nothing. In Touran, even in the third row, you don’t feel third -rate. And it’s not even enough, so as not to press the legs, space. Caring for the back passengers manifested itself in the presence of both lateral shelves with cup holders and full -fledged seat belts. By the way, the creators paid due attention to security. Six pillows are present even in the basic configuration - be calm.
Household features. At the presentation, they actually tried to hit our imagination with records that Touran reached in its category. Well, for example, that its internal height, it turns out, is more than a meter, and the potential volume of the cargo compartment reaches 1989 liters. But I was struck by something else. An unpleasant surprise: for the sake of increased spaciousness, they donated a reserve. Instead of it, a neat electric pump and mousse, who is an opera colleague, a partner in a test drive, immediately dubbed antiprodal. Clouded in the tongue not only with him, but also all automobile journalists who came from frosty Russia and vividly imagined how this mousse turns into ice at minus 25.
The surprise is pleasant: the abundance of drawers, pockets, nests for glasses and other useful little things. Their maximum amount is 39. In such a car, it is easy to cure anything. Two boxes under the front seats. Three departments - for papers, glasses - on the ceiling. Box on the console and under it. At hand at the driver - a box for a first -aid kit. Two tables with round slots for cup holders on the backs of the front seats ... I list what is in the richest configuration of Highline. But, I assure you, and in the simpler versions - Trendline and the base - there are plenty of susks. By the way, in the basic version of Touran, a strong owner who knows the price of each conditional unit will find almost everything you need. In any case, what the gullible consumer usually seduce in the database Touran. ABS, Airbegi, front electric windows, immobilizer, central castle with DU, music with CD ... For complete happiness, only air conditioning is missing.
Sports manners. The praises in honor of diesel engines in Russia will still not be appreciated. And the climate is not the same, and diesel fuel will not be seen everywhere. But I can’t resist a few delighted comments. Both engines (and 1.9 TDI and 2.0 TDI) are quite economical and reliable. Service service is supposed to them after 50,000 km. Theoretically, on one tank, Touran 1.9 TDI is capable of covering 1000 km. Very similar to the truth. I wrapped more than 700 km, and the arrow of the fuel sensor still dangled for a quarter. They say that the engineers who worked on the steering control had a hand in the special economy of Touran. It is electromechanical here and allows you to save two hundred grams per 100 km.
The edification of diesel horses is an order of magnitude higher than gasoline. Solyaris without visible efforts, and even with a supply of agility for half a man, pulled the car in the fifth gear in that slide in which the gasoline with direct injection 1.6 FSI was already torn on the third. A colleague about the latter was concise: dead! Alas, only versions with an even more thin 102-horsepower engine will be delivered to Russia at first. The price of cars with such an engine and in the basic configuration will start at $ 19,950. VW managers promise to somehow establish the release of 150-horsepower (volume of 2 l) engines. But they do not specify whether they will reach Russia.
   
All engines, and this in the speeches of VW representatives was presented as a unique proposal for this segment, go in a standard set with a six -speed box. In principle, a unique sixth program needs Touran like the fifth wheel. Talking about more fuel savings means to fall into pettiness. Only sophisticated comrades can experience some special dynamic pleasures from the sixth gear. Say, on the same fifth diesel, it calmly accelerated along the highway to 170 km/h. Switching to the six gave nothing. Although Touran, in all, could see more. But increased sailing and traffic police interfered.
The praise of one 6-speed manual transmission in VW did not limit themselves. Either in an advertising fucker, or with far-reaching marketing intentions, it was promised that in the future, a couple of gasoline engines would also be produced with a sports regime, and with diesel engines-Direct-Shift boxes. These are the same mechanical boxes with all the possibilities of multitronics, which so far only individual athletes of the Golf R32 and Audi TT 3.2 Quattro can boast. But if this really happens, I would advise the concern to think about a new name for the car. Touran-this somehow does not start.
