Despite the standard technical stuffing, Volkswagen Crosspolo is able to give pleasant emotions, which sometimes it is so lacking in gray everyday life.

Total a year and a half ago, being in Austria on a test drive of one of the Volkswagen models, we were offered to ride and on cross-like Crosspolo, but many did not spend time on the car, which was not planned to sell at that time in Russia. Nevertheless, in Russian representation, they decided to bring the model to our market, rightly believing that, despite the price high compared to the usual Polo price, the original car would find its audience. By the way, the possession of Crosspolo will cost a minimum of 711 thousand rubles, for this amount it is proposed a front-wheel drive car with an 85 h engine capacity with a capacity of 85 hp. and a 7-speed preselective DSG gearbox. Weakly, given that other configurations for Russia are not provided (in other countries, buyers can also choose a 105-strong turbo engine or dyeshel). Therefore, the power characteristics clearly do not apply to the number of trumps of this car. Of course, the main thing here is the image. The image that Crosspolo creates for its owner with the help of several non-hard, but effective strokes that distinguish it from the standard Volkswagen Polo.

The car of bright orange (total is offered six color options, everything is as catchy) is very noticeable both in the stream and in the parking lot, and the plastic lining, arches expanders and the front bumper with a silver spoiler give a pretty bar. All this is associated with the roof rails and an increase in 1.5 cm road lumen, which gives large 16-inch wheels, hints at an increased off-road potential of the model.

The topic of exclusivity continues in the cabin. Combined orange with black seat upholstery with an embroidered crosspolo logo, inserts in the door in the body color, leather finish for the arms of the gearbox and parking brakes with contrasting stitching and metal lining on the pedals create a positive mood. Actually, there is no Volkswagen to Ergonomics and Quality Assembly Claims. However, at the closest review, it begins to rush into the eyes if not ascetic, but frank simplicity of the basic configuration. There is no electric drive for adjusting seats, no cruise control, no heating of seats and an inexpensive audio system with a monochrome display is installed. Of course, these and other options can be ordered separately, but after all, the cost of the base version of the car, do not forget, already so more seven hundred thousand.
The engine having 85 hp allows the crosspolo not to fall out of the stream, but it clearly does not clearly configure when trying to vigorously accelerate the voice of the motor becomes so obscure that they involuntarily weaken the press on the gas pedal. The 7-speed DSG box is also affected, which is overlooking the work algorithm for other models of the Volkswagen concern. Of course, with acceleration in the mode in the floor, the robot copes well, but with a calm ride in mode D, the box in every way seeks to go to a higher transmission (the seventh may turn on at 60 km / h), and when it is necessary to suddenly accelerate, the electronic brain reflects too long What step to fall, losing the precious shares of a second. Therefore, in the urban stream it is more convenient to keep the lever at position s, the benefit of this is provided, in this case the DSG already when the gas reset begins to translate the transfer down, which then allows you to confidently accelerate at any time.

But the Crosspolo is managed almost perfect: the lightweight steering wheel and the amazing accuracy of the trajectory level in the consciousness of the driver's memories of the mediocre dynamic characteristics. The suspension is quite elastic, but rigidly responds to irregularities possible, on the car with an off-road spirit it would be worth putting the wheels with a higher than the 45th, profile, let and slightly sacrificing the handling. As for the increased up to 170 mm of the road lumen, then, in fact, it is identical to models specifically adapted for the Russian market. Naturally, storming a snowy virus on Crosspolo is not worth it, but it is quite on a ride on a rowed track, especially since the front spoiler works like a snowy dump. In our opinion, the list of options clearly lacks a full drive, however, thinking about how much the price of the car rose, it is better not worth it.

Without a doubt, with its appearance Volkswagen Crosspolo emphasizes the tendency of the owner to an active lifestyle. In addition, with folded seats in the trunk, there will be a lot of equipment, and the roof rails will help to carry, for example, bulky gear. Of course, the soul prefix has not added polo off-road qualities, but in any case guarantees the good mood surrounding.
