Quite quickly from such a car, a gloss of pre -sale preparation fell, and suspicious young people continued to shy godlessly along the streets on a powerful and fast rubbish. Since the country has become customary to buy new cars, the buyer of Golf has changed, and at the same time he himself.
This is amazing: we have already set a generation of this car since 1974, and the first from the sixth is far away, like a turtle from a bronchosaurus, but in each of them something indicated - das ist der golf (yes golf, golf!), And the figure of 26 million copies speaks for itself.
We got in Golf VI on Icelandic roads with a former autopilotist, and now the host of Echo Alexander Pikulenko, and, in fact, mutually checked our feelings.
The new Golf differs from the fifth generation exactly so that the person who bought the previous model a few months before the premiere does not nervously bite his lip. Of course, bold lines appeared, and most likely, this is the merit of Walter de Silva, who managed to convince the leadership that it was time to go to the breakthrough.
Its new dimensions are 4199 mm in length, 1779 mm in width, 1479 mm in height. Front -wheel drive, as usual.
The basic equipment is more expensive than the previous one for 200 euros, but there are already new positions that were previously listed as the options: climate control (in the XXI century without climate control-is simply a shame), and, for example, a pillow for knees. With safety here, everything is in order - only six pillows. VW claims that they do not take principles. And do not come. Two hundred euros. This is not such a big difference when we are talking about changing generations of the car.
Despite its simple name, Volkswagen, especially in Germany and in European markets, is perceived as an innovative car. Because, indeed, a lot of things have been invented here in recent years. This is the famous DSG box and TSI engines, engines, say, 1.4 liters, which are offered in the capacity range from 80 to 170 horsepower. With only 1.4 liters! Golf set the direction of development: a low -volume, powerful engine. This is that in the field of gasoline engines and is the future. The engineers have reached the fact that the engine remains quite acceptable and pulls enough in a wide range. The advantages of the motor are perfectly emphasized by the DSG box, which also has become a probable future for those who are looking for an alternative to a machine gun.
Here is the 1.4 TSI engine, power - 120 horsepower. He has one low pressure turbine, the so -called Soft Turbo, which allows him to work in urban conditions. Turning Golf into a typical-family car along the way. Then the same engine appears, but with two boosts: a mechanical supercharger - it helps us to work at low speeds, adds us a craving below - and a standard turbocharger, a high -pressure turbine. Power is already 160 horsepower. This engine can be developed in power further, that is, bringing it for sports purposes. There was a DSG box. This is a two clutch box. It looks like a solidly made mechanics with hydroelectronic control and with instant shift there and back. On a 120-horsepower model, it works softly-like an ordinary machine, no sharpness, everything is smooth. On a car with a capacity of 160 horsepower, even a certain infusion occurs when switching.
And the third option - a diesel appeared. A smooth innocent motor, very painful, characteristic of an absolute coincidence with DSG. It becomes clear that modern diesel machines lack just such a box.
Volkswagen Golf VI in the version of 2 liters, diesel, DSG, electronically controlled suspension. All governing bodies, except for brakes, have three operating modes - Comfort, Sport and neutral. We liked this version with my Co-Diver San Sanych of all three tested machines the most. The consumption on this machine is 7.1 liters. One hundred kilometers. It is believed that the TSI engine combination with a DSG box gives up to 28 percent of fuel savings.
The line for today looks like this: 80 horses, 102, 122, 160 for gasoline engines, 110 and 140 for diesel. Moreover, everything is subordinated to the requirement of Euro-5 for emissions.
With an engine of 80 hp. The car accelerates to a hundred for barely acceptable 13.9 seconds, 102 hp. - 11.3 seconds, 110 hp diesel - 10.7 seconds, 122 hp - Already quite decent for today 9.5 seconds. A 140-horsepower diesel-9.3 seconds, and the flagship 160-horsepower engine-for impressive on the family hatchback of 8 seconds.
For those who know Audi brand cars, it will be a pleasant surprise that the concern is unifying instruments again. Now, in the layout and illumination, the Golf toolbar is not much different from the Audi A3 panel - all such a native and familiar. A similar design of the climate control has already been presented on Passat CC, and the radio navigation system here is the newest, RNS 510.
Like A3, the current Golf from the inside is more than outside. And it is suitable for a married couple of any age, which moves through cities and villages with decent roads. A typical European car for an adult family. An adult, if only because it still does not remain cheap - more than sixteen thousand per base. In Germany.
Although of course the organizers of the victories of our golf tournament believe that the car is worthy of more riders than one couple alone. It is for this that the warning system was invented about how fast all the riders are in the back seat and which ones are not amenable to persuasion.
The machine is made in three main trim levels - Trendline (Basic), Comfortline, Highline (speaks for itself). Nevertheless, the materials are selected in all trim levels very, very decent. Then so far we have not noticed anything that would say about the desire to reduce the cost of the product. Seats configurations are offered four pieces. From tissue (Roxy) to combined - fabric with Alcantara material. Sports seats in Highline mainly from Alcantara and fabric with Dropmag pattern.
The volume of the trunk, being optimal, moved one to one from the fifth generation of the car.

It is not just the largest in size, he perceives all loads, determines the shape of the machine, and so on. It literally holds on it! Therefore, its development and manufacture cost quite decent money. And it is just the most difficult to change it. It is not surprising that often, even with a formal change of generations of the model, the frame is increasingly striving to save. Which happened in this case with Golf, and last year with Peugeot, when, through a total change of external panels and a new interior 307, it turned into 308. A few years ago, a similar operation was done with the Audi A4. From a formal point of view, this seems to be not a change in the model, but the deep modernization of the previous one-the frame is the same. But we are told a new generation, and most of us agree.
Connoisseurs of history recall the approach of American companies, which actually sold the same cars in different brands, and renewed every year-by changing decorative details and something in the configuration. Thus, it seems that it was possible to stimulate consumers more often to change cars. Although this method was ultimately criticized and actually buried: the buyer either wiser, or had a lot, but in the end I realized that it makes no sense to spend money with such a frequency. Especially in our time, when the design of the cars is brought almost to perfection and mainly only the indicators of air pollution change - towards the decline, of course.
Nevertheless, now the picture and European brands are very reminiscent of the American forty years ago. And precisely because we, consumers, are quite willingly following the given fashion. Most of those who, for any reason, choose Audi, hardly agree to replace her Volkswagen, no matter how many common detail they have. Buyers of the new Golf will surely find enough reasons for joy in it. Even preserving some details of the body, he nevertheless changed the style. And everyone will see that our car is new, and not released five years ago.
By the way, about five years. More recently, only Japanese brands could afford such a change in models change. Consumers often blamed European firms - they say, here, study! Here, learned.
