The diesel is almost not necessary to warm up, so we immediately go on the task. Squeezing, first, from a bunch-and, not disturbing the gas pedal, we smoothly start off. The sensations are strange. We are accustomed to the fact that if the diesel is atmospheric, such behavior is in the order of things, if turbocharged, it needs to be promoted like a gasoline engine. But here is turbocharged!
 
Such an elasticity of an engine with a capacity of 110 hp. It is determined by its torque - 235 Nm already at 1900 min -1. For comparison: in the 204-horsepower (!) Six gasoline, which is also installed on VW Golf, 270 Nm at 3200 min-1.
 
Note that the diesel power unit is equipped with an electronic mixture system. It is thanks to her that the car responds so well to the accelerator. And the turbocharger of the boost with altered geometry provides even rod in the entire speed range.
 
As soon as we go straight and give gas, Golf flew like a ball in the game of the same name. We did not expect such acceleration from the diesel machine. All passers -by turned frantically to the screech of frantically craning tires. But we, now under the whistle of the turbine of the motor, were rapidly moving away from black traces on the asphalt. The dynamics of the car are amazing: ten seconds, without obvious failures and pickups, and, as in the song, - the arrow in the hundred lies. It is quite worthy of him and maximum speed - 190 km/h.
 
And how do you like the fuel consumption in the city of 6.5 liters? On the highway, with a consumption of only 4 liters, with a full 55-liter tank you can drive 1375 kilometers! Not a car, but a taxi driver’s dream: he tucked it on a ruble, but earned all a hundred, and quickly and with comfort.
 
On our Golf there was a pendant not adapted to Russian operating conditions. But if we did not know this, we would never have guessed. For all the time of the test, we have never visited the idea that the suspension could be harder or softer. You practically do not notice the tram tracks, when braking, the car does not bite much, it does not squat at the start. In corners, however, he is somewhat more willingly willing, but remains on the trajectory, and this is the main thing.
 
If we had the opportunity, we would transfer everyone to such cars - nimble, environmentally friendly and economical. And then, you look, it would be far from only to us, but also our great -grandchildren to the fuel crisis.
