First of all, the novelty is distinguished by a spacious salon with a high roof.Designers and designers of the OPP development department of the Volga Automobile Plant began on the basis of the VAZ-2131 of an ambulance for the hinterland in 1998. The task was as follows: the car was supposed to have remarkable cross -country ability and an internal volume sufficient to accommodate medical personnel, equipment and a stretcher with the patient. So the VAZ-2923 prototype appeared. After some time, the model with the designation of the VAZ-2131-25 (1.8 l), already modified for production and certified, entered one of the private clinics in Moscow for trial operation.
The car differed from the relatives not only with special equipment (brackets for medical supplies, backlight, electrical units for connecting equipment, additional heater, external attributes), but also the height of the cabin, increased due to the installation of a plastic roof, as well as with a 300 mm rear overhang.
Given the specific nature of the novelty, no one hoped that it would be in great demand. Therefore, a passing project of a civilian SUV with a large salon was born, capable of interest to a wide circle of consumers.

The VAZ-2131-02 has changed somewhat in behavior compared to the base model. The increased length and mass increased the smoothness of the course. At the same time, the increased foliage of the car in corners is felt - because of the center of gravity, which has shown up.
While driving along an uneven road, standard suspension moves, especially the rear, seemed to us excessively large. Perhaps it would be possible to partially sacrifice the smoothness of the course for the sake of stability. And for the umpteenth once again we were convinced that the heavier the corporal, the more necessary for her, the steering wheel amplifier is necessary.
The base 1.7-liter engine is enough for a leisurely trip. Those who want more want to modify the VAZ-2131-22 with a 1.8 liter engine.
At the end of summer (in connection with the upcoming entry into force of Euro 2 and the orientation of the plant to foreign sales markets), the car will be equipped with a VAZ-21214 engine with central injection. A little later, he will be replaced by a VAZ-2130-20 with distributed fuel injection. And this is not all: along with five-door modifications, a three-door option will be produced-the VAZ-2129-02.

Lada-tulle appeared in 1992 as a manufacturer of accurate tools and equipment. However, in 1995-96. The first cars for the fire service and the Ministry of Emergencies were created on the basis of a long Niva (VAZ-2131) production of OPP AvtoVAZ. From the re-equipment of the VAZ-2131, the Lada-Tool company subsequently moved to independent assembly of machines and certification of production. The first commodity product was the VAZ-21106, better known as a dozen with the Opel engine. The VAZ-2329 pickup is also born here based on a long field. And in 1999, with the entry of a new assembly building, they already established serial production of a pickupa. Now 6-7 similar machines go out of the enterprise’s gates. The annual plan provides for the release of up to a thousand VAZ-2329.
In the second half of last year, an assembly of an experimental batch of a Commercial car VAZ-1706 shuttle (based on the VAZ-2108), as well as the VAZ-2131-05, was established on the Lada-Tool-a sanitary car based on a 5-door Niva.
Currently, the capacity of the enterprise allows you to produce up to one and a half thousand special forces, and there are prerequisites for increasing this figure almost doubled.
Working in close contact with the Department of Development and the OPP AvtoVAZ, the company's specialists bear plans to resume the assembly of the VAZ-21106-with a completely new Opel engine, as well as to produce all-wheel drive station wagons VAZ-21116-04 and VAZ-21113-04. They are also thinking about expanding special -purpose modifications, including with fuel injection engines.
