The 15th, 14th, 13th-in this sequence the Samara-2 project is being implemented on the modernization of families of eights and nine. Until 2004, restyled versions should completely displace the VAZ -2108 and -2109 on the main conveyor. However, the degree of update of models will be different.
 
VAZ-2115. Design work according to the model is performed almost in full. From this it follows that constructive and design ideas are implemented, if not one hundred percent, then at least ninety percent.
 
The car is assembled on the main conveyor of the vase - experimental production (OPP) is completely eliminated from this process.
 
All details of the external hitch, with the exception of, perhaps the fairing of the thresholds of the floor, are performed according to the main technologies. The car interior is equipped immediately with everything necessary. Engines are installed only with fuel injection. Actually, this differs the current VAZ-2115-21 from the 1997 sample (see the fifth wheel No. 5'97).
 
There are innovations in the exterior: fog and the third stop-signal in the rear spoiler. They are equipped with all cars.
 
In the salon, the 15th attention is immediately attracted by the new torpedo. According to the Vazovites, today it is the best panel of devices from all of them produced. It is carefully worked out in terms of design and ergonomics; Due to the introduction of the bulk, as in the classic, it has more mounting points. With the creaks, in any case, the new panel said goodbye.
 
In addition to the electronic odometer, a display appeared in a combination of devices, where the time and temperature of the outdoor air are displayed. Improved air flows directed to windshield and side glass.
 
A feature of the new instrument panel is the presence of two clothing boxes - additional and basic. If necessary, instead of additional, you can install a passenger airbag. Basically, holders for glasses appeared in the glove compartment.
 
The door panels are completely redesigned: from upholstery and handles to pockets. The lining of the floor panels and the design of the ducts of the warm air to sitting at the back were changed. The front seats are also modernized. In addition, the security belt mount is now carried out directly to the seat frame.
 
Convenient access to the trunk, by lowering the lid connector line, is supplemented by carpet upholstery inside, which replaced creaking plastic.
 
However, in the database we never saw either previously expected power windows, nor original rear -view mirrors. It's a pity.
 
From now on, all the fifteenth are equipped with VAZ-2111 injection engines (1.5 liters; 8 valves, 78 horsepower) from the family dozens. Thus, the task of improving the fuel efficiency of the car and compliance with environmental standards for emissions of harmful substances into the environment is realized. It is possible that this is also touched for the future: the supply of VAZ-2115 for export is supposed to be supplied.
 
Work is also underway on a more powerful modification - VAZ -21154. They want to equip the car with a 1.6-liter engine of the viburnum family, adapted for installation in the fifteenth model.
 
What can be said about the driving qualities of the VAZ-2115-21? The car did not lose his sharpness in the management and assertiveness characteristic of eights and nine (which, first of all, they differ from a dozen). At the same time, the VAZ-2111 engine brought its nuances to the dynamics of the machine. She did not worsen - she acquired a slightly different shade, since the ten motor has the best torque on the bottom.
 
There is no question of cacophony inside the machine. However, other attention has drawn attention. At four saddles in the cabin, the fifteenth is excessively squatting on the rear wheels. What is this, a worsened car dashing due to a massive rear overweight? By the way, in the bend, the car is more sensitive to the roll. Is this explained to this in the near future the appearance of cars with changed characteristics of the rear suspension?
 
VAZ-2114. The second member of the Samara-2 family, making his way to the main conveyor. Last year, 15 cars were assembled with the help of the OPP. This is supposed to be released about a thousand.
 
The VAZ-2109 substitute was in the worst position than the VAZ-2115. A number of objective reasons have led to the fact that the back of the 14th, with the exception of the bumper and spoiler, practically did not undergo any significant changes. The main losses of the project: the absence of a lower baggage connector and an inseparable back of the rear folding seat in the fifth door of the lower door. In all likelihood, the VAZ -2114 saw the light only thanks to the abundant resemblance to the fifteenth model: the same doors, moldings and - practically - the salon. Actually, this served as a car and a pass: first in the OPP, and then on the main conveyor.
 
VAZ -2114 - more assembled on the go than the fifteenth model. It feels from driving he is closest to the predecessor - nine. In any case, the effect of an opened rear overweight is completely absent.
 
Speaking about the Samara-2 project, one cannot fail to mention the three-door hatchback of the VAZ-2113, although we never saw it live. Around this component of the project, the situation is the most confusing. Although the commission of the car is expected no earlier than 2002, it is not the fact that this will happen.
 
The main problems are the presence of many original details both in the interior and in the external hitch requiring separate equipment for their manufacture. There are technological difficulties.
 
What should be expected from the Samara-2 family in the future and what are the prospects of the project? In all likelihood, power windows, new rear -view mirrors and air intake - a special box to improve the flow of air running into the radiator, will still include the standard equipment of the cars. As additional equipment, you can expect the appearance of ABS and airbags. The necessary work on these positions has already been almost completed.
 
The buyer’s interest, we think, will warm up information about the decrease (~ by 6%) of the cost of the VAZ-2115, due to the fact that the model will be assembled on the main conveyor. There is a negative moment. In the repair, especially the body, the fifteenth with its original body will cost almost twice as much as the 99th.
