Whatever adherents of technological progress said there, long-lived cars are even in the most developed powers. It can be a utilitarian all -around, simple and strong as an army boot, or a stylish handsome converter, folk love.
We have our own national characteristics. Foreigners hardly believe that in Russia they make C-class cars for $ 3,500. Moreover, there is also a choice in this price niche. Say, a six with a VAZ engine of 1.6 liters and a four-speed gearbox collected in Izhevsk costs 104,500 rubles (with 5-speed one 6 thousand more expensive). And the IZH 2126 hatchback with a Ufa engine of 1.7 liters and a 5 -speed box is even cheaper - 103,500. We decided to compare these cars by inviting them to the test. True, we’ll make a reservation right away: they approached them with a special measurement - not the one that we evaluate the imported cars.
The road is with a gray ribbon curl
The behavior of the car on the highway, as you know, depends on many design features. But in any case, the basis of controllability is the suspension of the machine and its steering. Here you immediately have to recall the age of VAZ 2106.
The front and rear suspensions of the six behave unequally. In front - the compression rate of the two -leaf is small, which is why the energy intensity is limited. In the back, on the contrary, the suspension is long -term, very energy -intensive, but prone to build -up on the waves, which is helped by a large rear overhang. Especially if at least one passenger sits behind the driver or there is a load in the trunk. In general, the behavior of good VAZ classics can be described as comfortable on a good road, but unimportant in terms of controllability.
The Izhevsk hatchback in front has a more modern McExeson. Oda behavior is better balanced, but still closer to the Lada than to modern classmates. The front and back suspensions are close by strokes and stiffness, which allows you to judge the car as a whole, without dividing the front and ass. On a good road, IZH 2126 will give in a little comfort in comfort, although the passage of irregularities will be better heard in the cabin. But Oda calmly tolerates the waves and less susceptible to serious pardons.
The slightly smaller in the working volume of the engine engine is slightly inferior to the engine with indicators of the engine, but has a more convenient characteristic - and tries to pull at low speeds, and continues to confidently gain torque at large revolutions.
The Ufa carburetor unit is noticeably more lively at medium speeds, when the tachometer arrow is between the marks of 2000 and 4,500 rpm. Further - the motor works rather to increase noise than on dynamics. Below the specified range, the return is also less desirable - you feel that the motor does not like the riding. The driver’s sensations also affect the features of the throttle drive: he perceives the first half of the course of the Oda pedal as a preparatory procedure, they say, you want to go - click stronger.
The brakes deserve separate mention. At IZH 2126 they have never been a strong place. Even after the improvements carried out at the factory, this pedal remained cotton - with a large course, but low informativeness.
The six has a different kind of problems. The working car slows down normally, but it is very sensitive to acidification of mechanisms, uneven wear of the pads and other things. That is why after a year and two operation a sharp braking causes a noticeable led to the side.
Neither rain nor slush are terrible
The reader is unlikely to understand us if we do not talk about the cross -country ability. Let's imagine ourselves on the off -road at the wheel of odes and six.
If you do not climb into a quagmire, the first nuisance of the owner of the Lada will be a touch of the earth with the rear overhang - a muffler and a fog light. Oda does not have such problems, but it will previously begin to struck the ground with the rear gearbox (here she has a lumen of 160 mm versus 172 at the six).
It is worth passing a good rain - under the wheels a large puddle will definitely be, passing which you will overwhelm the dirt abdomen. For this exercise, the underground part of IZH is better prepared: here the lower levers and the exhaust system are located a couple of centimeters higher.
With the love of owners for trips to nature, it is advisable to install the protection of the motor compartment on both cars, and the Lada is required to a greater extent.
Salon disputes - the last thing
The interiors are far from the world level, but this is not the main thing. Whether the jobs are acceptably arranged - God with him, with the world. And what's in practice?
Incorrect landing in VAZ 2106, with close pedals, is treated only ... replacing the model. Other means, such as: the spacers for the wheel, lengthening the column, or a change in the attachment points of the driver's seat are ineffective, are also illegal.
People of small growth in VAZ 2106 may seem quite acceptable. Those who are larger will have to choose between the two options: either navigate the pedals and constantly reach the steering wheel, or fit the seat on the steering wheel and sit the gag. In both cases, the shoulders will hang in the air, so that the many hours of daily only will make itself felt with back pain.
Izhevsk hatchback is fresher, and the driver’s landing is much more convenient here. There is an electric headlight corrector, external mirrors adjustable from the cabin. But it is worth it to ride once at night, you are bewildered from the pitch darkness on the dashboard, although some buttons constructively imply lighting. But in general, the salon is thought out fine.
The peculiarity of the front seats, which we have already noted earlier, is an overly developed lumbar back. Ours, perhaps, are not reference backs, cannot simultaneously lean on the lower and upper parts of the back.
On the rear seats of both cars are cramped, but you can live. In the still larger space for the legs, the back is laid out in parts, but ... the trunk volume hiding behind it, according to our measurements, is only 250 liters against 320 VAZ 2106.
First of all, we will ruin the planes
The fall of the quality of domestic technology is evidenced by vying: both components, to put it mildly, are not the best, and the assembly does not shine. Basic the claims that arose with us are shown in the photo. Here we want to pay attention to a real trifle.
In one of the cars taken from the dealer (they went through pre -sale preparation), the rear seat pillow lay in the cabin, unreliable on the fixers. In the other, the half of the seats of the seat was not snapped in a normal (vertical) position. Nonsense?
We imagined how a person who prepared our cars will go to another job - he will not sell odes with sixes, but a Mercedes. We have no doubt that he will have to blow dust off the cars before showing them to the potential buyer. Image.
But how to determine what is more affected by the image of the car - the imported anticorus, which is now made to all cars in Izhevsk, or what the buyer sees in the car dealership - unsecured seats and wires hanging like icicles? It is worth thinking, dear factory workers. By golly, it’s worth it!
