General impressions
The former Camry, I remember, was rather uncomfortable: yes, solid, but her appearance clearly lacked harmony. The last generation version is more elegant and proportional. The only problem is a decisively non-memorable appearance: this is a very modest business bar, although in its own way a charming one.
 
The interior of the car is a sample of rationality and good taste: there are no traits in it, but there is laconicism, ergonomics, high -quality assembly, solid finishing materials, as well as decent equipment. At the height, noise insulation and comfort of the spacious salon, with very comfortable chairs: what are the adjustable backs of the rear seats!
 
This machine did not seek to become a sports car in any generation, and the current one is no exception: it is controlled calmly. But it accelerates quite worthy, and with any engine. And how it goes even along a broken highway, you can’t convey in words: you feel that you are swimming on the cloud. This, in fact, is the main pleasure of driving a given car: in excellent riding comfort.

Choosing a body
There is no alternative: buyers are offered one single sedan, as in all previous generations of Camry sold in Europe (universals were available only to the Japanese, and a compartment called SOLARA to the Americans), worth from 853 thousand rubles.
 
Sources of movement
The basic engine for Camry was the once top motor of the youngest model Avensis: 2.4-liter 2AZ-Fe with a capacity of 167 hp. It can work in a pair both with mechanics (such a machine costs 853 thousand rubles), and with a 5-band automaton (from 891 thousand rubles). Note that the manual transmission is available only in the basic configuration of comfort. The acceleration dynamics of both machines is approximately the same: from zero to hundreds of slightly more than 9 s, while the maximum speed is 205210 km/h. The version with a mechanical box consumes 1-2 liters less than gasoline than a similar Camry with automatic transmission (fuel consumption is 13.6 liters in the city and 7.8 liters on the highway).
 
Between the top and basic motors, the abyss ran, or rather 108 liters. p., 1.1 liters of working volume and two cylinders. The model accelerates with this engine is very briskly: the distance of a quarter mile passes (according to the manufacturer) over 15 C at the level of Subaru Impreza WRX! And the consumption of fuel (again from the words of the manufacturer) remains almost the same as a machine with a 2.4-liter power unit and automatic transmission: the city has a little larger (14.1 l), and even less on the highway (7.4 liters ). The cost of this car is at least 1,273,000 rubles.
 
Basic levels of equipment
The list of configurations on the lower line contains comfort (from 853 thousand rubles). It includes electric mirrors and heating, headlight washer, a steering wheel adjustable in height and departure, two-zone climate control, rain and light sensors, heating the front seats, as well as a battery of passive and active safety. Not poor!
 
The next position of eleganes worth 970 thousand rubles. In addition to the above equipment, you can count on leather upholstery, electric drive of the front seats and cruise control. There is also eleganes plus (1 016 000 rubles) with xenon, headlight corrector, as well as a stabilization system.
 
The prestige is located above (1 105,000 rubles). The main difference from Eleganes is the presence of a navigation system and a rear view chamber. The V6 engine with a working volume of 3.5 liters is available only in the execution of luxury. The difference between this and previous assemblies, in addition to the motor and price (1,273,000 rubles), is the same adjustments to the back of the rear sofa, which were mentioned above.
 
Additives?

Volkswagen Passat
A worthy alternative to a large Japanese sedan: excellent smoothness is combined with confident manageability, the salon pleases with high quality and rich equipment. The line of engines is wider than Camry (however, the German does not have such a powerful top version), in addition, in addition to the sedan, the station wagon was also proposed.
 
Mitsubishi Galant
