Do not judge the novelties of the auto industry by photographs. No matter how high the professional level of a person who removes the car is high, you still will not get a true performance. We also started acquaintance with the Suzuki SX4 sedan with photos. Something awkward and absolutely devoid of proportions looked at us from the computer monitor, giving birth to only one question in my head: why? Why did they disfigure the hatchback so much? After all, there was a normal car, so no someone thought of attaching this trunk to it in general, there was no limit to disappointment. As, however, there was no bounds and surprise when we met with a real machine. In the parking lot in front of the car dealership stood a completely different car.
And he is not so bad. Yes, the roof level for the sedan is unusually high. Yes, it is somewhat unusual to see wide front racks with small windows in a car with this type of body. But in general, all this does not spoil the sedan. And the trunk himself, which was previously associated with us with garage-applied art, turned out to be not such a foreign body. And a competently littered rear stand and completely gave the appearance of a car a certain dynamism.
Now about the salon. Nothing new in comparison with the hatchback, of course, you will not see here. All there and the same. The same neat in appearance, but, alas, hard plastic, the same modest central console with inexpressive, but quite convenient buttons. And even the rear seats are just as slightly above the front. The latter is made in order to significantly expand the horizons of the rear passengers. Although, with such a glazing area, it would be impossible to complain about the lack of viewing, even sitting on the floor. You also do not have to grumble about the lack of space in the SX4. Although on the back sofa, with the front seats completely shifted to the stern, you won’t really fall apart. But which one trunk! It is clear that today there are specimens that have much more spacious pantries. But so far there are units, and to the joy of the layman of the SX4 can be safely ranked to them. The only inconvenience is that it is possible to discover this happiness with a volume of 515 liters only with a key or corresponding to a cabin from a cabin. There is not even a button on the cover.
As before, the car is delivered to our market with one engine. However, this in -line four 1.6 liters with a capacity of 107 hp. It is quite appropriate on this sedan. It is clear that it will not be possible to calculate the car with such a motor for lighters, nevertheless, driving on the SX4 even with an automatic gearbox does not look like a run of turtles. In any case, we managed to get from the car a 12 seconds to hundreds and 170 km/h of maximum speed declared by the manufacturer. But most pleased the average fuel consumption. Six liters per hundred at a speed of 120 km/h in a suburban cycle are a very good result.
But the sailing alerted. With even a slight side wind, the car significantly drives along the road, you have to constantly catch it. Even the adaptive electrical power steering does not save the position. With the speed of speed, it, of course, is poured with a severity, which significantly improves controllability, but it has no clear zero, and therefore it remains not very informative, and even a non -senile gust of wind can rearrange the SX4 into the neighboring lane. Checked in practice. So in open places you need to be prepared for this.
How to be prepared and to the fact that with noise insulation the car is not fine. As a rule, sedans are always quieter than hatchbacks, because the noise from the rear wheeled arches is more localized in the trunk. You can’t say this about SX4. Already a hundred sitting from behind does not hear what the driver and the front passenger are talking about. However, Suzuki has never been famous for this indicator.
Bet on Europe
Thinking the SX4, the Japanese decided to fill them with their islands and not even an American continent. They waved to the old Europe. So, in particular, the dimensions of the car were driven exclusively for European norms. Initially, it should have been slightly less. Enough attention was paid to the appearance. By the clearance, they turned to the famous atelier, led by Mr. Jujaro. In addition, the Fiat agreement was concluded on the parallel release of this car, but only under the Fiat brand the Italian SX4 is called as SEDICI. Well, in order to gain a foothold in the European market, thoroughly, production and the first, willow was established in Hungary.
Driving
The car is able to deliver the pleasure of driving, but it will not be possible to recognize the ideal one in either manageability or in dynamics.
Salon
Spacious and quite functional. A good review is pleasing from both the driver’s place and the second row passengers. The trunk deserves a separate praise.
Comfort
It is quite consistent with the class of the car, you can only complain about insufficient sound insulation.
Safety
The base includes two airbags and ABS.
Price
Attractive for the middle class for which this car is designed.

Our opinion
Despite our fears, the Suzuki SX4 sedan actually turned out to be a way. Not without flaws, of course, but who does not have them. It only grieves that it is represented in our market with just one engine. It’s good that at least you can choose between mechanics and automatic.
