I mean not just the next Leon or Ibiza, but the fact that without exaggeration can be called a hundred percent novelty. We are talking about the new Toledo family, which is designed to expand the model range of the Catalan manufacturer.

Of course, the presentation of the fourth generation Seat Toledo could not pass in another place. After the Seat joined the friendly Volkswagen family, it was TOLEDO who became the first model on which advanced German technologies began to be used. Despite the presence of a double, Toledo looks pretty and original. The car immediately guesses belonging to the Catalan family thanks to wide headlights with characteristic pointed corners. In combination with the trapezoidal grilles of the radiator and the lower air intake, the front optics emphasize the wide silhouette of the body. Absolutely new elements were added to the roof line, which smoothly flows into the rear side panel. And the sloping rear window, in addition to solving purely design problems, contributes to good visibility. But we will be convinced of this a little later, during running tests, but for now it is worth focusing on the physical parameters of the debutant.
With a body length of 4.48 m, the sedan has a large lid of the trunk, like a hatchback. In the basic configuration, the useful volume of the luggage compartment is 550 liters. However, cargo capacity can be increased to impressive 1490 liters. This can be achieved by installing optional rear seats with folding backs. Thus, in capacity, the new Toledo can easily be compared with many station wagons. An elongated, compared with the previous version, a 2602 mm wheelbase provides a decent space in the cabin. This will be especially noted by passengers of the second row, for whose legs, well, a lot of space is provided. I can’t help but note the large door openings that allow you to easily sit down and get out of the car. At least, with an increase of 180 cm, it was convenient.
For the first acquaintance with Toledo, we have chosen an innovative and very powerful four -cylinder TSI engine with a volume of 1.4 liters. Do not rush to laugh. This 122 -horsepower engine is able to speed up the machine to 100 km/h for only 9.5 s. And the most interesting thing is that the average fuel consumption of this version is 5.4 liters per hundred. It is easy to calculate: with a 55 -fuel fuel tank at one gas station you can drive about 1000 kilometers. Great!
The second row passengers are given full comfort
The super -economy engine works in tandem with DSG with two clutches. In practice, this means that the gear shift occurs lightning speed. The car smoothly and dynamically gains move without any pauses and jerks. In this case, the maximum speed is 206 km/h. Of course, we were not able to check this parameter in action, but the car accelerated to the mark of 160. No hints of uncertainty, I will report to you, there was no mention. True, in sporting, the inveterate TOLEDO suspension is quite sensitive to the irregularities of the coating. Someone can calculate this with a disadvantage, someone with advantage. As for handling, Toledo seems to be a glove on the road, regularly performing the driver’s commands. It is worth noting that thanks to the electro -hydraulic steering wheel amplifier with a set of speed from a person, the steering wheel is noticeably heavier. At low speeds, the steering wheel again becomes supple. Riding around the city is a pleasure. Actually, for this, the car was created. It is intended for family use. And in this section, a large trunk, a spacious salon, solid spacious openings are very useful.

Naturally, there will be a logical choice between Toledo and Rapid before those who want to buy a similar car. I think it all depends on the nature of the client. Expressive natures are more suitable for the Catalan version, which stands out with a bright design. In any case, it is good that one of the most successful models of the Seat brand is returning. I think in Russia it will be successful.
Our verdict
Undoubtedly, Seat Toledo is a city car. It stands out with a spacious salon and a relatively small body. The large trunk is perfect for weekly grocery purchases in the supermarket, and wide doorways make it easier to plant and landing older people.
