Unexpected lightness and strength
On BB Open Deck puts the same 1.5-liter engine, as on the usual BB. When they talk about open modifications based on existing models, they usually come to the conclusion: compared with the base car, the body strength falls, the weight increases, the feeling of movement is also slightly reduced, but if you think about the pleasure of openness, it is nonsense. The car body has such a tendency that the strength falls as the number of holes increases. If it can somehow increase it, then it becomes harder, and besides, there is almost no awning. However, in the case of Open Deck, not only the number of doors decreased, compared with the base model, but also the number of partitions increased by one, if you consider the back of the trunk, the back hatch and the door. Thus, in fact, it turned out a more profitable form to ensure rigidity than the usual BB, which is a large box. In addition, thanks to the cut of the rear half of the roof, the weight of the car turned out 20 kg more easily than the ordinary model.
Considering the nature of the car, as they say, the suspension is adjusted slightly softer than the normal model, and the impression of the movement has become even better, perhaps thanks to a more easy and solid body. The body seems to be surprisingly firmly shot down, and due to the significant cutout of the back of the roof, probably also dropped the center of gravity. In this sense, we can say that there is a way to adjust the suspension to a more sporty. Attraction in the world of minivans?
The share of sedans on sale of new cars last year crossed 30%. The share of SUVs, not to mention the coupe, also tends to reduce, but only sales of minivans and universal are increasing. In this case, if earlier, the minivan was the subject for an individualist, allowing to demonstrate an open atmosphere, then in the current period relatively difficult to assert its individuality with the help of such a machine. Nevertheless, to force it to ride as a sports would be fundamentally nonresonal.
If you think so, the direction, similar to the BB Open Deck model, personally seems very attractive as a departure from the minivan era. The space of the rear seats is inferior by the functionality characteristic of the minivan, since it is intended almost only for emergency cases. But if you think, then the users of minivans often ride them one or two. In addition, there are plenty of minivans in which many people can sit down. And you can also say that the world of minivans has already matured so much that such attractions appear.
