Yes, the package. And not from somewhere, but from distant France. What kind of surprise for us, the inhabitants of Russia and the CIS, did the French have prepared?
 
As it turned out, businessmen from Western Europe sent an excellent alternative to almost all cars produced on the territory of the Commonwealth of Independent States: in the image of a box named Renault Logan, a formidable competitor and domestic Lada and Uzbek Daewoo arrived. No, there was absolutely nothing outstanding in it: a simple exterior and salon design, completely ordinary motors, rather poor equipment ... The whole value of this car was that it was designed from scratch. After all, both many domestic crafts and the products of our neighbors are based on old models that were once considered modern, while Logan is a simple, budget, still modern machine, created taking into account today's requirements for safety, comfort and ergonomics. Wow a gift? It remains only to understand which of the many versions to choose.
 
General impressions
Outwardly, Logan does not cause any emotions except perhaps despondency: she is a box in Africa. Nevertheless, the car, oddly enough, turned out to be recognizable, confusing it with something else is quite difficult. But in general, this is still an unremarkable, unpretentious sedan of the budget class.
 
The interior looks very cheap: the decoration materials were selected taking into account savings, and the equipment is very modest, especially in basic versions. But everything is modern, and ergonomics, albeit not perfect, but worthy. Most of all Logan pleases, of course, with a capacity: the car was built around the cabin, so the latter was made almost record for a car of this class. The trunk does not disappoint.
 
Driving properties to match the appearance: absolutely nothing outstanding. Calm dynamics, intelligible, although not incendiary controllability, moderate power of the brake transport, nothing more. The good smoothness of the course came in handy: Logan with its energy -intensive suspension saves the comfort of the people in it as much as possible.
 
Choosing a body
Alas, there is no alternative: there is only a sedan. And despite the long-standing conversations about the appearance of the hatchback, the Logan model range is still represented by a single modification. True, at the end of this year, promises may finally be fulfilled: it is then that they plan to launch Renault Sandero.
 
Sources of movement
As for the choice of power units, the French have nothing to please the Logan buyers: only two engines, and those are far from athletes. The base engine with a working volume of 1.4 liters produces 75 liters. With. Acceleration to a hundred takes a long 13 s, and the maximum speed does not exceed 162 km/h. But this motor consumes fuel quite moderately: only 9.2 liters in the city and 5.5 liters on the highway.
 
The second, 1.6-liter unit develops 90 liters. With. They are enough to accelerate to hundreds for 11.5 s, and also reach the maximum 175 km/h. The fuel consumption, alas, is 10 liters in the city and 5.8 liters on the highway. The minimum cost of a machine equipped with such a engine is 332,300 rubles.
 
Fans of automatic boxes will have to upset: all Logan, who went off the assembly line, are equipped with classic five -speed manual transmission.
 
Basic levels of equipment
The cheapest logan is called authentique. In it, in the literal sense of the word, there is nothing empty, like a drum. But it costs not too expensive 292 thousand rubles. True, for this money, the buyer receives only the steering wheel (with a pillow of safety), seats and doors, there is decisively telling about standard equipment.
 
But there is something to tell about Expression (309 500 rubles): tinted glass, bums are partially painted in the body color (that is, the machine at least looks prettier than the bare basic version), the central castle. Note that if you order a 1.6-liter engine for this execution (the cost of the car is 332,300 rubles), then you can count on the GUR and the front electric windows.
 
By the way, 1.4-liter engines will be equipped with cars only in the Authentique and Expression configuration, and 1.6-liter power units are put on increaser modifications.
 
Equipping Privilege involves the presence of 15-inch discs (instead of a wheel with a diameter of 14 inches), an on-board computer, two rear headrests, adjusting a driver's seat in height, as well as a central locking lock. The price, of course, will be higher: from 355 thousand rubles.
 
The last of the usual Prestige configurations worth 380 500 rubles. Mirrors and moldings are painted in the color of the body, the steering wheel and lever of the checkpoint are trimmed with skin, mirrors and rear windows are driven by buttons, the salon is equipped with air conditioning, the front seats are heated.
 
Additives?
The base logan can not be equipped with almost anything additionally. But Expression is quite amenable to individual refinement: you can paint the machine with a metal enamel, equip ABS, a second pillow of safety, parking sensors, an audio system, fog lights, and in addition, the options you like are installed on Logan Privilege.
 
Well, for Logan Privilege, air conditioning is available, heating the front seats, an electric drive of the rear glass and mirrors, as well as music with the ability to play the compositions recorded in the MP3 format. As for Prestige, it is practically no different in terms of reinforcements from cheaper modifications: you can order a parking radar, alarm, a second airbag and metallic color. The whole difference lies in the fact that many positions in the list of options of the Privilege version are included in the base package Prestige.
 
From additional equipment for the capital and Black Line, there is practically nothing: only dealer accessories will be possible: alarm, deflectors, parking sensors, etc.
 
LIFE IS GOOD!
In addition to ordinary executions, several emergency ones are provided. The first of them is the capital: it costs such Logan more than Privilege (364,300 rubles), although its equipment is even slightly poorer (for example, there is no adjustment of the driver's seat in height, and the external decor is easier). But there is an air conditioner, as well as a musical system with an MP3 player.
 
The second unusual equipment is called Black Line (359 950 rubles). This model is equipped with air conditioning, alloy disks, fog lights, plus is painted in a special color with a very sonorous name Black Pearl.
 
COMPETITION
 
Lada Kalina
This machine became legendary even before its debut: while it was prepared for the exit, more than one generation of drivers and cars managed to grow ... We will attribute the availability of spare parts, as well as an impressive road clearance. The disadvantages are unreliability, low assembly quality, obsolete design ...
 
Chevrolet Lanos
Lanos is far from the most modern product in our automobile market. Nevertheless, at a fairly attractive price, he offers an interesting combination of consumer properties: a relatively spacious salon, good dynamics, and fitness to our roads. The base Lanos is even a little cheaper than Logan.
 
Daewoo Nexia
Someone will probably consider that Nexia is higher than Logan, but this is not entirely true: the Frenchman is more comfortable than the product of the Uzbek assembly. There are no problems with spare parts and repair: the machine is common. It only upset how much this model is outdated (its story began in the 80s).
