Test drive by Renault Koleos since 2011 crossover
Diesel Renault Koleos
Once in difficult times, my friend worked in France in vineyards. And he later told me about the incredible frugality of the French, sometimes simply as greed. And that in France for this reason there are almost half of cars with a diesel engine. So I was not at all surprised when I found out that we had to test Renault Koleos, equipped with a diesel engine ... Despite the fact that Koleos was built on the Nissan platform, and is generally made in South Korea, the French still took part in the creation of the car. It manifests itself both in design and in the habits of the machine. But we all already talked about this in January 2009, and now let's see what the new two -liter turbodiesel M9R 835 promises us.
We needed all -wheel drive only on a fragmented rise
Electronic blocking imitators allow you to confidently crawl everywhere
The engine surprised. Right from the first start from the traffic light. At first, frightening thoughtfulness, for a split second, until the engine gains 2000 rpm. And then quite confident acceleration. Naturally, this is not a BMW x6, but it will enjoy the victory over the marten-taxi in traffic lights. The diesel 150 horses and 320 Nm of the torque with the right pedal pressed into the floor, of course, do not press into the back of the seat, but allow us to be guaranteed to break away from the stream. There are no frightening rolls in the corners, and quite responsive steering allows you to rather famously lay turns and perform rearrangements in a loose flow of transport. The brakes are not scared by efforts and give a pleasant opportunity to perform quite accurate stops and slowdown. But we still do not have an asphalt magazine, and more interested in something else. The fact is that the soot filter of the diesel engine lowered the large clearence for the crossover Koleos from impressive 206 mm to banal 185. How will this affect patency?
How diesel survives with our fuel, time will tell
After the rains of the country of central Russia, they turned into a fragmented full mud. We successfully put there, without getting stuck anywhere even on the front -wheel drive. The electronic imitators of the inter -long differential lock were creaked, but in the mode of the slip -in the floor, the machine drove everywhere, sometimes a feature of a rather low engine protection. The flat bottom made it possible to slide, and the corners of the entrance and the congress excellent for the crossover saved us from excuses before the Renault representation for broken details. The thrust of the diesel and gear rates was enough just enough to climb into a fragmented clay rise. By the way, this is the only obstacle, except for sand that required blocking the coupling of all -wheel drive. So if you avoid hard fractures of the relief, where you can trite the machine on the belly, and not get into too deep ruts, there are no problems on the real impassability. But this car still provides for the descent from the mountain.
A powerful eye as if hinting: let's go, will we become in the mud?
Categorically did not like the work of the heater. Firstly, diesel warms up for a very long time. I'm afraid to those who drive in short distances in this machine will be sad. Secondly, using the automatic heater mode does not make sense. I set 26 degrees Auto and froze until I switched to manual mode. Heating the seat begins to warm when this is no longer any need, that is, by the end of the trip. The wiper works like a Lada. There is a rain sensor, but it works when the rain goes in France. Or in Japan.
Conclusion: yes, this is what my old man’s father, diesel Niva dreamed! Comfortable, passable and comfortable. Dynamic and controlled. True, with a price of 1129 thousand rubles.
