The most economical in history of the Porsche car is praised atypical for the company from Tsuffenhausen values. And yet this is a real Porsche ...

When you drive along the mountain road towards Oberzalzberg, which is on the border of Germany and Austria, you experience strange sensations: desert roads, alpine landscapes untouched by civilization, stone chips, even, as if glass, asphalt, turn over the bend, all this hypnotizes consciousness.

I must admit, and my car brought its touch of mysticism into this bewitching expirence. In fact, where you will still see a huge four -door athletian who does not go in absolute silence and with an unemployed engine, but as if it soars above the ground!

Do you believe that the crystal-clean, oxygen-saturated air Alps acts too intoxicating? No, no, believe me, I'm in perfect order. It’s just that my Panamera S Hybrid is driven by a duet of gasoline V6 and an electric motor.

Sometimes it seems to me that marketers from Tsuffenhausen check the limits of the strength of their customers. The fact is that for the most part Porsche buyers are not just wealthy people. They know the history of the company, honor the traditions of the brand and are jealous of innovations that, in their opinion, can belittle the highest image of the brand. And there are many examples of this in the history of the company. In the middle of the 60s, the owners of the 356 model were slightly condescending to those who travel on the 911th newly released. In the first years after the debut, the future eternal classic seemed to many too avant -garde in design. And already twenty years later, the appearance of front -end models 928 and 924 caused a storm of protests among the Purists who were baking about the image of the company.

In the last ten years, Porsche has completely forgotten about pity for devoted fans. At first there was a wave of indignation, the appearance of the Cayenne crossover, then the noisy debut of the four -door athlete Panamera, and now both of the most controversial car of the brand, as they say, have acquired hybrid power plants to the heap!

However, those who believe that hybrids and Porsche are incompatible are seriously mistaken. Back in 1901, young Ferdinand Porsche, at that time, the engineer and designer of the Austrian company Jacob Lohner & Co created the world's first hybrid. Not a prototype, not a concept, but an acting car that everyone could purchase. At the dawn of the last century, the use of electric motors installed in the wheeled hubs along with the ICE, according to Porsche, was supposed to increase the high -speed potential of the car. Indeed, on his hybrid Ferdinand set a speed record and won several races. Today, Panamera S Hybrid carries a completely different mission: by personal example, to prove that the concepts of a sports sedan and an economical car are not mutually exclusive. At the same time, there is nothing revolutionary in the hybrid Panamera. The power plant is a 3 -frail compressor six -cylinder engine with a capacity of 333 liters. With. and an electric motor, raising the total power of to 380 horses. Structurally, the machine is the so -called parallel hybrid, that is, engines can operate both together and separately. Say, Panamera S Hybrid can move exclusively on the electric trim. And with fully charged batteries, the power supply on the electric trotter is about 2 km. In a word, everything is like everyone else. The only truly curious moment of the hybrid power plant is the engine disconnection system when moving at high speeds. When speeding on the ICE highway, it turns off, and the car is moving, but the auxiliary systems, as, say, steering wheel and brake amplifiers, still get food. The movement of the roller on the definition of a sports brand seems to be mildly, an original solution. Since the driver’s school, everyone remembers that there is only one step from the wheels devoid of traction to the loss of control over the car. However, with the modern development of electronic security tools, this is no longer so important. In addition, the dissection is carried out only on the straight line, and if necessary, the internal combustion engine is instantly included in the work. But thanks to the hollow regime, the engineers managed to significantly reduce the suburban fuel consumption of a weak place of the usual hybrids.

Panamera S Hybrid is really phenomenal. Even if you ignore the E-Power mode, which reduces the sensitivity of the gas pedal and thus postponing the moment of turning on the internal combustion engine for a later date, and go in vigorous mode, with accelerations, overtaking, frequent stops and braking, the average consumption ranges from 10 liters.

Moreover, some colleagues, having decided to find out the limits of the economy of the hybrid, managed to drown the consumption below 7 liters on a measured 90 -kilometer site! For this, however, I had to turn off the climate control and go in a whisper ...

Well, more economically Porsche, the world still did not know this fact. The question is, is this car worthy of the very name of the elite German brand? To obtain an immediate response, you need to sharply press the gas pedal. Panamera instantly reacts to the order to accelerate, and an electric motor is connected to the capabilities of the gasoline engine. The torque of the two units is summarized and, albeit for a certain period of time, but the car becomes noticeable of receiver. However, already 270 km/h of maximum speed, which, by the way, the machine develops exclusively with the help of ICEs, make Panamera S Hybrid the fastest hybrid car in the world.

Rubber for economical
If suddenly the fuel consumption of the standard Panamera S Hybrid seems too high to you, then economic indicators can be improved by ordering special tires of Michelin. The dimensions of the dimension of 255/45 R19 in front and 285/40 R19 are in the back with a special composition of the working mixture with low rolling resistance, as well as an optimized frame with reduced friction losses. As a result, fuel consumption is 8 liters in the city cycle and 6.1 liters in Zagorodnoy. Saving compared to standard tires in this way 300 grams. The content of carbon dioxide in exhaust gases is also reduced to 159 g per 1 km. But, keep in mind, the economical Michelin tires have a speed index, which means it is not recommended to accelerate faster than 240 km/h.

We do not love
The schedule illustrating the worker of the hybrid is very, even too fascinating. Clearly

The power plant provides an unprecedented for Porsche cars. Marvelous

Driving
If there can be no complaints about impeccable controllability, then the dynamics of the hybrid does not force the heart to beat rapidly.

Salon
Excess buttons on the central console will not make you reduce the assessment. Well, a very impressive interior in every sense.

Comfort
Panamera S Hybrid is even too quiet for Porsche.

Safety
Upper class! All that is needed and even a little more is already in the basic configuration.

Price
A little more expensive than the basic model.

Advantages and disadvantages
+ Phenomenal fuel economy for such a powerful machine, luxurious interior, good dynamics, excellent handling
- Higher than the Panamera S version, price

Our opinion
The fastest hybrid in the world, of course, is far from the most gambling representative of the Porsche family. However, his speakers are enough to leave the first from a traffic light, and phenomenal economy delights as an amazing evidence of human genius.
