Perhaps you did not know this, but even legendary cars with signs of exclusivity are firmly built into the marketing strategy. The art of building machines is obliged to get along with the art of making money. And if Porsche at least once decided to go against the laws of the market, I would not stand it at the Volkswagen gate with a generous purchase offer.
We must pay tribute to the Germans - they still do not allow their machines to assimilate in the stereo breed of mass production. And this, despite the presence in the modeling line of the glamorous must be in the form of Cayenne and the first Panamera for the company of the four -door coupe (see cover).
If some meet new standards for harmful emissions by reducing the renunciation of their engines, then Porsche invariably drops kilograms from horsepower and always runs a little in front of the green preson. The sound of the exhaust, as before, defiantly vigorous, the speeds grow (the new Cayman S added as many as 25 liters.), And fitting into all existing norms will not allow any erasure to put these machines outlap the law.
That's what you have to follow is the updating of the product line. Carrera modernization was recently carried out, now it was Cayman.
It is necessary to spend a lot of time reading automobile magazines (or spend a lot of money on a garage) in order to notice cosmetic changes on the move. For clarity, the company representatives had to impose a new silhouette on old contours using a presentation screen. LED lighting devices, reconstruction of the anterior optics, light strokes to the body kit - all this is not the main thing. The main thing is that each Porsche update is suitable with a set of technical innovations that do not allow this operation to put an unambiguous Facelft verdict. Although, strictly speaking, with a list of secret innovations, we had the opportunity to get to know each other last summer.
Like Carrera, the new Cayman generation tried on the last hit of the company - a seven -speed Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe gearbox, easier - PDK. Naturally, an updated opposition with direct injection, a controlled oil supply, reduced by 6 kg weighing, improved performance and harmful emissions, is installed in the engine compartment. The last two parameters in Russia traditionally do not excite anyone, but it is nice to hear about it. By the way, with active ride, you still get ready for a consumption in the region of 20 liters per hundred and do not pass by decent gas stations, if Russia is around- you can go far on a 65-liter tank only if you go boring.
Under the multimedia screen, which was registered in the entire updated family (the navigator is now included in the basic package) - Sport and Sport Plus buttons, involving optional suspension control packages (PASM) and transfers mode.
Sport Plus brings the usual racing shaking to the salon, the exhaust system begins to roar ominously, and the engine hangs in a high speed zone, providing a maximum torque at almost any speed. The stabilization system allows everything that will embroider in a bad head, and wakes up only from the blow to the brakes. During our trip along the vicinity of Sherry and Cadis, light rain drizzled, and even enlarged rear tires were not always a guarantee of entering the turn. But the reaction to the accelerator is instantaneous, and when the driver is discharged, he almost throws his chest on the belt - he asked himself.
In civilian regime, the car, as usual, holds a traditional Spanish serpentine (well, do not like straight roads here) with a dead grip, almost not allowing the wheels to scroll. As a component of the Sport Chrono Plus package, as usual, the Launch Control system is installed: two quickly suppressed by the automation of the screeching of the tires-and the machine accelerates in optimal mode in less than 5 s (plus or minus to the wind) to hundreds.
Some test specimens were made in an even richer version. The standard tuning provides for the installation of carbon fiber lining on the thresholds, Kevlar seats, an additional anti-wing (the main one is extended automatically or manually), black 19-inch wheels, as well as applying Carrera S on the sides of the car. This version of execution looks especially impressive in combination with a piercingly orange body color.
The movement of the engine close to the driver's back left a place for a normal trunk - this is in addition to the standard suitcase well in front. All together gives a pretty decent luggage space. And the upper casing of the motor compartment in the cabin can be thrown to the top with automobile magazines, fashionable fur coats and food from the alphabet of taste.
And a few more words about the simple life of a glamorous city rider: two cup holders leave the panel above the glove box, the design of which is suspiciously reminiscent of handcuffs - with a well -known dexterity, they can even be clung to the wrists. It must be assumed that this gadget was not registered in the salon in order to carry hostages in the passenger seat- just the North American audience does not understand how to do without a cup holder in the car. Although there is a suspicion that with active driving a car (and how else to drive it?!) In a factory container, even a Burdu from McDonalds closed with a plastic lid. It is also true that Porsche domestic customers rarely combine quick food. But these are the details of the personal upgrade.
