Sports Kayenna was introduced in the south of Portugal in the town of Porshees. Although, of course, this geographical name is only consonant with the famous brand. The modification of GTS similar to other kayenes is much larger - for example, the car resembles Kayenna Turbo with huge air intakes in the front and a powerful stern. Differences, perhaps, only in 14 mm rolled arches and black, in the spirit of sports models, window frames, racks and door handles.
At first, lounging in a comfortable Kayenna GTS chair (it is difficult to sit differently in a seat, adjustable in 12 positions), decided to look through the description of the car. V8 engine with direct injection DFI (Direct Fuel Injection), the intake pipeline of the variable length and the Variocam Plus system, which changes the phase of gas distribution and the height of the intake valves, GTS borrowed from Kayenna S. True, raised the capacity of 20 hp. Motorists forced him to breathe deeper - from 76 to 82 mm increased the diameter of the throttle, and its Y -shaped air duct and its Y -shaped. The injection and ignition settings adjusted the settings, and the main pairs were also shortened for theemic dynamics - in other words, increased gear relations from 3.55 to 4.1.
For the sake of better stability and handling, GTS lowered the center of gravity - the body of sports all -resistance is 24 mm closer to the ground than the usual Kayenna and models with Schildik S. But what about off -road? Porsche representatives clearly foresaw the question. If among potential GTS buyers there are those who want to move off the asphalt, it is better to order a car with air suspension. By the way, the keys to this in my hand.

At first, I very carefully treated the gas pedal, fearing that 405 horses would be awake - to pacify such a herd on the narrow streets of the Portuguese town is unsafe. But experienced trainers perfectly restrained this power - GTS dutifully performed commands of the electronic gas pedal, smoothly starting from the place and accurately holding the permitted 50 km/h. As if you were driving not a sports car, but a calm family station wagon. I even wanted to stop near the coffee shop to cheer up.
I woke up a trip to Auto-Ban. The tachometer arrow jumped to the red mark so quickly that I did not have time to twist the transmission - the engine hung on the limiter. The car has turned from an affectionate pony in a brisk horse, ready to rush into full speed. I had to hover it - on local highways of a speed limit of 130 km/h. A short touch to the middle pedal, and powerful brake mechanisms instantly returned Porsche to the framework of the permitted. But I want something more - we go to the adjacent mountain road.
It would be a great disappointment to find some serious miscalculation in the steering settings and pendants. The impressive dimensions and the almost 2.5-ton mass of the GTS do not interfere with it easily and obediently screw it into one turn after another. Still, the buildup of the body is a little reduced. What did they say about suspension adjustments? I press the sports regime button - Kayenna becomes more collected. Now I work less with the steering wheel to accurately withstand the trajectory. True, I feel fossils and bumps, which on the roads of Portugal, I feel much more distinct.
I continue to experiment with the settings - I’ll try that another Sport key will give, which leads the engine and transmission. It feels that all the intermediaries disappeared between me and the engine - I just thought, and the control electronics have already fulfilled my desire. Yes, and the motor, which seemed quiet, while driving calmly, sang overliguously. Heads of vacuum regulators help him to tune in to the desired tonality, connecting additional volume in the release system and thereby reducing the anti -aircraft gas station. The process controls electronics, taking into account the frequency of rotation of the crankshaft, the load on the engine and the selected gear.
Kayenna accounts for about a third of all Porsche sales. Modern buyers prefer universal cars, and some can also allow expensive ones. The GTS version (in Russia will appear in February, the price is from 84,300 euros), it may have lost a little in versatility, but I acquired much more. What exactly? What was always appreciated in Porsche is a bright style, irresistible power and honed handling. I think this will be appreciated by both old and new admirers of the brand.

What are we standing on?
Despite the similarity of the structure with other Kayen-nam, there are a lot of original solutions in the GTS suspension. For example, for the first time in this family, shock absorbers with variable rigidity are combined with springs. Previously, such were put only on cars with pneumatics. For a new spring suspension, an electronics regulating the rigidity of the suspension were modernized by prescribing a sports algorithm for it. The collapse of the front and rear wheels was made negative to improve stability in corners. As an option, an air suspension is offered, which changes the road clearance (in the diagram), if necessary). In most cases, it is 195 mm. At a speed of 125 km/h, the body is lowered by 9 mm, and after 210 km/h - another 5 mm. On the off-road, on the contrary, it rises above the ground to 221 mm, and if necessary, in the reserve another 30 mm. True, on tiptoe, Kayenna will go no faster than 30 km/h. The air suspension is supplemented by a system of active suppression of rolls - stabilizers with built -in hydraulic models prevent the body's build -up (more in the ZR, 2007, No. 3).
