The hatchback 308 was turned into a sedan not by a simple pitch of the trunk to the rear. Anyway, strictly speaking, no one turned the hatchback into a sedan. The sedan was made from the station wagon 308 SW, the very one that with an extended one by a millimeter of 11 cm with a wheelbase. And for the sedan it is more than 9 mm. Yes, and the total overall length exceeds it in the station wagon. It turned out a sort of degeneration. With a length of 4703 mm Peugeot 308, in theory, it should be classified as a D-class sedan. However, it is positioned in the S. segment and at a price too.
    
The 408th has a slightly changed front part. The traditional grin disappeared into the whole face. The bumper and the hood were twisted, which gave the expression of the face partly a dull look. The trunk was woven into the original appearance, but to call the Peugeot 408 masterpiece of auto design the language does not turn. Particular attention is paid to the giant back door. It opens a very wide and convenient passage inside. And its glass goes down to the end. Needless to say, practical, convenient.

Therefore, first I sit back. Yes, in front and there is nothing to consider. The front panel copies the hatch. The back is interesting primarily in view of the spaciousness. In the segment, I have never seen so much space on the second row.

But that's not all. Peugeot wants to advance an affordable diesel version to the masses. But back to our top version. The car has cute 17-inch discs with low-profile rubber. It is the version with such wheels that offers the buyer the maximum road clearance of almost 18 cm (178 mm)! We traveled through the primer, along a broken asphalt, on unfamiliar roads. In the journalist dough mode, but the suspension has never allowed a breakdown. Of course, controllability has nevertheless suffered from adapting adaptation. The car rides reliably and pleasant, there is feedback on the steering wheel, but you will not receive feelings at the wheel of 308. 408th does not light. He is only reliably lucky his riders and protects their comfort.

Assessing all the above, one cannot but come to the conclusion that Peugeot has been prepared for the market of a powerful fighter. For Russian adaptation, you can safely put the five. For the variety of engines too. Five for the inner space with a plus. It can also be assumed that 408 will be more reliable than 308, at least due to the fact that the sedan is adapted and built on the basis of the model produced for several years, the main shortcomings of the design of which have already been eliminated.
